With all the continual boastings of the pirates in and out of eve....I propose that all of us so called "carebears" unite to make a stand to take back the galaxy. The pirates have been gatecamping enough. We should form our own Carebear alliance and join together to rid the galaxy of known pirate havens. Imagine it hundreds of carebears from all walks of eve band together en masse in their bantams, punishers, incursus',and probes and warp to these dens of the gate campers to finally make their stand. At the very least the swarm of noob ships could take out a few of their prize battleships at one pop. And that my friends would be something to see

Err...in order to take out just the shields on a Tempest, you'd have to get enough n00b ships together to do over 5k damage. To do that on the first volley, you're talking a good couple hundred ships.
In the meantime my particular Tempest, for example, is perfectly capable of popping several noob level frigates on the first volley. Bad positioning would mean several more falling from single torpoedos from the launchers.
Nevermind if you could actually collect enough n00b ships in one system without lagging the servers to hell.
Nice dream, but buy a battleship first.

First of all taking out five noob ships with one volley wouldn't really mean anything if there were a swarm of noob ships. And after all lets just compare the overall cost here....1 battleship averages 60-90 million....1 bantam costs 20k....so who really would care? As for server lag... reboot equals fifteen minutes. And FYI dreams are what its all about.

Edited by: Demangel on 28/09/2003 07:45:22 Hellcat, you are Anything but a carebear, a boob maybe for thinking a fleet of less than 100+ noob ships could do anything, but not a carebear. *friendly poke*
Carebear: Combat and or any other kind of PVP challenge equals stupid/bad for games/evil/silly/(insert your favorite word here). Everything must be Co-op, or nothing... Any time a player can resist your actions, even if it uses a fair and balanced system, the entire concept is stupid and because your a paying subscriber, the entire concept of the game must be changed just for you...
PVP enthusiast/average normal player: Combat and or PVP is cool so long as it's reasonably fair, I might go looking for a fight now and then, but not to make anyone miserable. It's part of the game, pirates, corp wars, open market. All of that makes for a fun immersive/exciting experience. Of course when it's badly made, PVP sucks...
Griefer: I 0wn0rz j00!!! STFU!!! Carebear!
If your really a care bear you will give up on this suicidal idea as it goes against the very nature of a Care bear.
Now if your trying to make the PVP lover quit so CCP will have no choice but to make everyones ships invulnerable so you can AFK mine, and whatnot all day, YOU are the Griefing Idiot, and should turn in your biomass to me so I can recycle it.
If your trying to make a Griefer leave, then the best way to do that is to try and ignore them... A true griefer doesn't get any jollies unless you notice him/her. In the end if you wish for the latter, then I wish you the best of luck, and don't worry I will be at your characters funeral
Lastly your idea was tried once before, before anyone had a BS... The whole thing was an utter disaster, something like 25 newb ships and better but cheaper frigates obliterated in the span of like 5 minutes or something with ZERO pirate losses...
Galaxion > If you drove a car shaped like a thorax women would call you Demangel > Dude... I would call.. Demangel > wait that sounded g@y I bet. Galaxion > Just a bit.

Edited by: Joshua Calvert on 28/09/2003 10:41:00 Doesn't take more than a couple of frigates to lock down a battleship.
LADAR-specific ECM stacks when coming from multiple sources so the option of taking them out isn't there unless you have drones/FoF missiles.
Add to that webifying from a couple of sources, and any number of warp-jammers, and you're screwed.
If there's kestrels with cruise missiles in there, you may not even have the option of logging off.

As far as I know, every type of sensor jamming devices stack together, not just LADAR.
PS to the original poster. Go back to bed, you are silly.

I know that but since Jash referred to a Tempest I thought I'd use the correct sensor type.

I see and how would you "hundreds of carebears" warp in and fight? Since you have never been in battle there is one factor: LAG. Now go back and mine son. --

Who said they had to warp-in?
They could be gate-terrorists.
Of course, 20 frigates would be a pretty laggy.

But you can knock the sheilds out with the first volly from 4 kestrels.

Quote: But you can knock the sheilds out with the first volly from 4 kestrels.
1: The original n00b did say n00b ships. n00b ships piloted by people without cruise missile skills is not a threat to a battleship.
2: Using Kestrels would mean paying for something, which carebears are notorious for avoiding at all costs. Whining is cheaper

what if the n00bs have managed to get Merlin's and Tristan's!? 100 Merlin's loaded with at least 2x150mm 2xRocket Launchers.... 100 of them would take out a Battleship in 20 secounds im sure....

The nature of the beast won't allow it. That's too much work for a carebear to invest.
And even if they managed to pull it off once, that'd be the limit of it. The pirates would chuckle, replace the lost battleship and just come decimate you for doing something stupid. You'd have to maintain that force, which none of them will.
