Now what Im wondering, Was this one of the missions that got changed to eb harder, and if so could I petition to get this reimbursed?
I was Using the follwing setup: 8 Mega Pulse Laser 1 Fleeting Web 3 Eutectic Cap rechargers 2 LAR II 1kinetic, 1thermic, 1explosive hardener 1 true sanshas adaptive nano plating (18% to all) and 2 capacitor relays.
I got my ass kicked. Thus what Im wondering was this due to the apparant screw up of missions or was it all my fault? | My apoc was offcourse insured but the loss of modules and insurance money still sets me back 60 million. And dont you hate it when people make their signature look like part of their post? |

Though im still new to the new generation of level 4s, I think the explosive hardener and true sansha were a mistake. DPS is heavy on thermal with half of damage coming from thermal. I think you should have went into that with 2x thermal hardeners and 1x kinetic hardeners.
I think the webber needed to go. Either an afterburner or an eutectic capacitor. Im not saying the webber always needs to go but for this fight it wasnt helping you and you needed to be very specific.
You also had to warp stab x2 if you wanted to warp out after getting run down. I tend to approach new missions that I dont know I can do with enough warp stabs to warp out. I deal with cap loss as it comes. Better safe then sorry. (remember NPCs dont stack. Highest takes effect. Usually that means you only need 2)
I would have went in initially like this: High 6x mega beams standard L 2x arbalest heavies with thermal ammo
Mid 4x eutectic ( I really like an afterburner in mid but if im light on cap ill take it off for a bit)
Low 2x Large armor rep II 2x warp stab 2x thermal hardner 1x kinetic hardner
But i would do it knowing darn well it would be with alot of warping out =)
Once i had the wingman/overlords/schmidt picked out I would hit station and replace the warp stabs with cap relays and prolly stuff an afterburner back on mid to take out the rest.
Occasionaly I do a level 4 where they web and swarm you close as soon as you move in. Ive taken to just equipping a rack of cruiser beams if they do that. Replaced after the swarm is dead.
I cant solo them fast like that but I wouldnt have died =)

Are they faster than before ? In that case I would need some 1-2 levels of skill speed to balance back.

Right hardening is eesential in these missions. You should check out eve-info on all your missions if you're not confident with them ________________________________________________

First of all Im pretty sure this was not one of the adjusted missions and secondly unless you where using a Navy Apoc (or even an Impoc) you cant have 8 low-slot items.
So Im sorry to say this but I dont think you will get it back. Just be wary of that mission, it hurts quite a bit.
Boost Amarr or nerf the rest, give us this 'balance' that you keep talking about. |

Well if you want a story about being stupid to make you feel better. Last night I was burned out on my muscle through these level 4s the ultra safe but ultra long hard way. So I thought hey ill just got do some cheap easy level 3s while I watch a dvd. So anyway right as I click activate on the gate my phone rings. Naturally i go pick it up. Its my friend and I walk out unto the porch to chat for a while. Anyway... when i get done I as soon as I put down the phone I realize i have jumped into deadspace without a single module turned on. I hurry to find my apoc dead~
Apparently im stupid or have ADD or something...
And to make matters worse I had my level 4 stuff/tools in the cargo hold in addition to my level 3 stuff on the ship. So I ended up out like 60 million for chating on the phone and being stupid~
Guess it keeps me earning more isk~

its rather easy, jump in at 100km, kill em all and if ness warp out, and warp in again from a different angle.

You gotta snipe that mission IMO. |

Edited by: Azerrad on 22/06/2006 17:25:28 Sniping is for wusses. The mission is tankable with 2 large T2 reps and 5 rat specific hardners, but it is a little scary doing so. You also need decent damage output to take down some of the ships quickly so your tank doesn't fail.
btw, OP's setup wouldn't come even remotely close to being able to tank that mission.
