I was on my alt that I just made training 5-30 minute skills when I saw this fellows thread. I sometimes buy GTCs for the purpose of reselling to npc corp buddies every now and then, so I thought I'd ask him if he would mind selling me a time code using the old method. I explained it is no longer supported by CCP but I'd send isk first thereby taking a risk on my part while leaving him completely safe.
Yuhanna declined. I asked why. He said because he uses the new method. I asked what the problem with the old method is, in this case. He said he uses the new method. I challenged him to give a single logical/valid reason WHY he will not allow me to send isk in return for a GTC sent via evemail. His response was blocking me.
A bit rude, in my opinion. I did not insult the guy or anything, just wanted to dispell any wrong ideas he migth have had about what I was requesting. It is true that CCP no longer supports the old method, but it is by no means illegal and it actually is much quicker than the new way. As long as I pay first, I take all the risk and he takes none of it. There is nothing I could possibly do to scam him or cause any trouble to him if I pay first.
Anyways, I jsut thought I'd mention that since it makes me go "WTF?" when people go out of their way to be inflexible and they dont even have a single reason.

You start insisting on buying a GTC with the old method using a a character that is LESS than a day old ALT... and see how many people put you on blocked list.

I explained why I was on my new alt. You never asked for proof that I'm on an old account or who my main is. Also, I didn't insist anything. I asked if you could sell using the new method. You said no. I asked why, you blocked me. Its your right to deny anyone, but it's also my right to think your a fruit loop.
PS: Even if the buyer *IS* a 1 day old character, as long as they send the ISK first what harm could they possibly cause? They send the ISK first!
When using the old method, GTCs are no different from Raven Battleships. If a 1 day old character wanted to buy a raven from you in game and wanted to send you 100m ISK first, why would you fear his offer and not even work with him and others to make sure it is scam proof? Old method GTC selling is no longer supported. If I send ISK first, I'm the only one taking a risk, so who cares how old my character.
BTW, I'd have to have logged into my main anyways to to the deal with you, since my new character only had 10m ISK on her. I was never planning to buy the GTC using that alt char, and I even told you.
Go on, continue giving absolutely no reason why you are blindly afraid of your own shadow.
