I bought myself another account so i could mine and haul at the same time, problem is if both chrs are in the same system 1 of them will have a normal background and the other will have a white screen with the ship, stations and asteroid belts showing up as normal, if they are in seperate regions one occasionally has white background, but most of the time both are normal.i wouldnt mind but the white screen makes it near unplayable turning that account into a slideshow near enough. anybody else had this sort of problem
Specs:
1.7Ghz Pentium 4,
512mb RAM,
Geforce 2MX/MX400 (i think this might be the problem)
Creative SB Live card

yeah i think that graphics card is most likely the problem, as it is quite old. have u updated ur drivers?

upto date drivers yeah.
ive needed an excuse for getting a new graphics card

I play on one comp with two accounts ...
All you need is to turn off the "sun occuring with ship" option at both accounts.(not sure it's call this, but something like that .. not at my own comp at this moment)

Sorry the option it's called "Sun Occluded By Ships" ..turn it off on both accounts ..and you should do fine.

I have 2 accounts and use them often on one pc.
I use them windowed (rather than alt-TAB between full screen mode)
I don't have any problems at all.
Maybe you should try increasing your memory (I have 1 GB RAM).

done the sun is occluded by ships thingy, still not working right 
new graphics card and upgrade my ram i thinks

I think that you need more ram and another cpu.
I had the same problem with my 1,3 ghz athlon.
with my p4 2,4 it works fine.

1,7 GHz should be able to run both accounts. At least it did work fine for me. Only difference between Tactin's PC and my (old) PC is the memory (I had 768mb RIMM) and graphic card (a geforce 4 ti 4200 with 128mb DDR).
My bets are on the graphics card...
Note: a geforce 4 MX is just an overclocked/boosted geforce 2... that's why they are so cheap

I've been running two account for a long time now, but right after the patch I have been having problems with one of the windows crashing and exiting the game totally. I am sure this isn't a CPU or memory problem, i have plenty of both. I just find it strange that this started happening fight after the patch.
This isn't really a reply but I thought I'd share my problem.
