Edgar dumped out of the diagnostics with a curse, then toggled off for a hard boot. The console shared the blackness of space around him, the emergency lights flickered, then the ship came to life around him once more.
His eyes, fixed on the endless stream of text before him watched the details of this, his seventh attempt at bringing the grid back online.

FreeVOS Dispatch: AutoNAV module starting up...OK
FreeVOS Dispatch: Local warp beacon list loaded.
FreeVOS Dispatch: Overview populated.
FreeVOS Dispatch: Pilot profile loading...ERROR!
"Son of an Amarr!" He slammed his fist into the console.
"Still nothing, sir?" Gerrand had been waiting with baited breath while the aging technician worked on the problem at hand. Hours had passed with no sign of progress, and the Minmatar's temper was known to rival even that of their pod-dwelling employer now hibernating in the depths of the ship.
"Nothing! Nothing at all! I've run every check I can think of, every fix-it routine I know, and his sodding picture still won't load!"
Silence crept in then, punctuated only by Edgar's heavy, impatient breathing and the click and whirr of the ancient hard drives cycling down until summoned back to life.
Heiwa would not be pleased.
