So I was diddling around, didn't really understand what I was doing, accepted an escrow mission with a 15,000,000 reward upon completion. Low and behold it drained me of 50,000,000 just to accept this mission, and the stuff I need to pick up is 31 jumps away through about twenty-five 0.0 security zones, I was shot down in my little Bantam at about jump 22. Is there any way I can get my ISK back or am I simply out of luck? Thanks for any help. |

That's not an escrow, its a courier mission. And next time you accept one that looks really good, I suggest you look at the starting point and destination

I take it that means I'm SOL? Ugh, that was like 3 weeks worth of mining :(

Solution: Don't spend 3 weeks mining, and be more careful next time.
It happens: you're not the only one. Many people set up missions just for this purpose to catch people who aren't paying attention to the destination.

You're only SOL if you can't find a way to pick up the cargo 25 jumps through 0.0 away and deliver it to the destination before the deadline is up.
I know that's not helpful, just trying to help you laugh at this a little.
Hey, on the bright side, you *might* have 50 million in cargo waiting for you on the other side of the galaxy.

Sadly you can't unaccept a courier mission.
Assuming you didn't pick up the stuff yet. You can try to get it again.
The map filters can show you where to expect gate camps (Pods Killed in last hour), and blobs (pilots in space).
It will take a lot of Bantams and implants to make that 50 mil not worth it.
Of course if the stuff gets blown up you're out of luck.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'm out 50 mil, dang. Oh well at least I took my Bantam off some pretty sweet jumps before she went boom.

When you decide to (or are forced to) give up, remotely repackage the box and see what's in there. Hopefully it's not a civilian afterburner.
