To my knowlage no account has ever been removed.
They say at least 6 months, and as noted above there is zero insentive for them to delete accounts. They dont exactly have a huge bloated db. :)

Renewed one of my old account yesterday which I cancelled in March 2004. I don't think they would ever delete an account. As long as they keep the account, the incentive is there for the player to come back

My toon was still there from a year ago. Rerolled anyway so I could figure things out.
DBAs general rule of thumb: don't modify the data if you don't have to. In other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I suspended Viscount Hood in 2003 and came back to Eve in 2005. So I suspect you'll have no problems. ------------------------------------------------

I restarted an account from 2003 and all my characters were still there.
Make sure you leave something really big training when you cancel. Might as well get the training for when you come back

i doubt it works that way would mean you could deactivite an account for a month set training skill that takes a month and come back .. must be a huge error if it would train during deactivation ..

It doesn't. If you suspend your account your training is suspended too. As I found out I had a skill training for some years! ------------------------------------------------

To the OP,... Don't make the mistake I made! Keep your account active,..train those skills,..you dont need to 'play' for the time being. I have cancelled three times since launch, and each time I end up coming back and kick myself for not keeping it at least active to train while I killed Klickniks and gnolls. I'm probably not alone,..sure feels like it though,..to be the oldest 'newb'.,.3 year old char with like 7m sp!!!
Whatever you are doing,..whatever game you are switching too,...you WILL come back!! lol : p
Do the Right thing,...
