I'm moving to 0.0 sys in south soon and I know it's a pain using laser against angel, haven't tried it, tho. And I heard that it's better to setup autocannons. It is true? I have only 1m sp in gunnery now and can't use T2 pulse, the best I can setup in hi is 7 mega modulated pulse energy beam I.
PS, will rats scramble me? I know some fri does it in lvl4 missions which I'm running now but not sure about the rats in 0.0. Thanks for all your replies.

Use the Autos. Angels are good at thanking the EM/Therm damage that Lasers kick out.

Yeah, the "Arch" Angel rats will scramble you.

Im running 7 dual modulated heavy pulse, 1x heavy nos
2x cap rechargres, 1x webber
MAR II, LAR II, 2x Explosive Hardeners, 1x Kinetic Hardener, 1x CPR, 2x HS II.
5x Berserker Drones.
Hunts in Angel space easily for the most part.
Thats on a Geddon.

I agree with Cruz, if you are going to hunt in 0.0 with an Amarrian ship use Pulse lasers.
I would go with the geddon as well for the ROF bonii and the lows.

Best Apoc setup for hunting Angels is "Sell This Item", then search the market for a Tempest or a Raven and buy it. Not only do you have to either use autocannons, which you don't get a bonus for, or use lasers, which Angels tank well, but they're also doing explosive damage, which is your lowest natural resist.
Absolute best Angel-killer is the Raven, because you can fit all explosive missiles for maximum damage and explosive is your highest shield resist for maximum tanking.

tbh, Tempest with its 6 guns and Apoc with 8 guns + Damage mod do the same dps with artillery.

lasers = no ammo logistics
just hunt until your hold is filled with decent loot

OP, you ever ratted other npc's?
If so, expect angels to be 100 times more difficult. Not only will their tackling frigates be as tough as a sansha cruiser (or in some cases battlecruisers) but you can expect to be pwned alot.
Angles is the ONLY npc I have EVER lost a battleship too. In most cases is has been while killing off a spawn then all of a sudden a bunch of frigates respawn then getting tripple webbed and scrambled while the battleships tore me to pieces.
Amarr needs love from the devs damnit!. |

I try to avoid angel npcs in an apoc simply because the damage types and resistances are not favorable. However, the setup I used the most when farming them was as follows:
6 t2 mega pulse
2 cruise launchers (best you can get) w/ wrath cruise
1 t2 ab
2 cap rechargers
1 tracking comp (best you can get, prefer officer)
1 LAR2
1 t2 Kinetic
1 t2 explosive
1 t2 heat sink
3 CPRs
5 t2 medium drones (explosive or kinetic)
5 t2 light drones (explosive or kinetic)
Still takes ages. That's why i'm going to use my domnix against angels from now on.

6 Dual Heavy Pulse IIs x 2 Arb Siege w. Bane are much better than megapulses and CMs. Then t2 mediums and lights if you get scrambled. Leave them if they don't so you can chain BS spawns.

Spend a week training basic skills for the Raven. Im maxed out on laser skills and my missle skills are at lvl 3-4.
The Raven is far superior at ratting then any other ship even with low skills.

Thx all for the advices, anyway I'll try mega pulse first also with 5 valkyrie II. If it's still too tough for me then I'll train autocannons.

However, the Tempest is doing explosive damage, and the Apoc isn't.
