ok heres the prob, I was gonna change the resolution to make everything smaller but instead everything get screwed up big time, everything is huge and I cant do a thing what should I do? which file should I replace?

I have this exact problem too!
Submitted question thru EVE tech support...
I'll post the answer when/if it comes back.

Crap I just got this error, Damn it my screen is the size of a damn postage stamp, I set my res to 1280 x 1024 I got a flattscreen monitor , and NO WHERE did it say that THIS was not supported for flatscreens , There is no way out of game to fix the resolution? this is increadable

Well this is nice of eve support team, sent em a mail asking if they could help me and all I got from them was a mail asking me to respond how satisfied I was with their help, and I guess I told how satisfied I am with their help which was absolutely none what so ever..... name for their support team should be, None What So EVEr, I freaking pay the monthly bill to play, should get a bit better service then......

I'm having exactly the same problem. Every time I load EVE (fullscreen) everything is absolutely huge on screen. When I go to Windows Mode the window is absolutely tiny and I can't resize it. I'm running a NVidia GeForce FX card on a Sony Vaio desktop with a flatscreen. It just happened all of a sudden and I can't get it back to normal.

To fix this, locate your cache folder, it will be somewhere like .../CCP/EVE/cache, and delete the prefs.ini file. It will return all options to their default.

Or just edit the prefs.ini, there's two rather obvious lines, one for height, one for width, for the resolution.

I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. Solved the problem.
