What did you guys do in this new patch? Now not only do I still CTD, but I also get memmory leaks. I sat and watched over a period of 5 mins the memory usage climb from 118k to the entire capacity of my 512 ram stick. Please fix this, eve has become rediculously unplayable.

Are you sure you just never looked before? LOL
Did you miss every past post on this subject or are you the lucky lottery winner that truly never had this problem before?

Actually when I get past the black screen at char logon bug, my memory utilisation is stable. No increase at all....
If the black screen bug hits it eats 512MB in no time at all

The memory leak is realted to player icons in chat windows. If you change all the shat windows to use text only and hide the "in-chat" sidebar on them then it goes away.
Obviously it's annoying as if left unchecked it can eat an entire gig of ram in half an hour (faster in busy systems) but there is a workaround at least.

8 months? IŠve played the free month that comes free when you buy the game, +3 months period and 5 more day on my next 3 months period. However i didnt manage to get the game till about 7 days or so after launch, if one add all this up, eve been running for about 4+ 1/2 month, not 8... And back to topic really, I think the memleak was killed in the fridays patch really.. __________________________________________________________ |

Yeah, 1217 was horrible. 350+ after a couple of minutes. Never got higher than that for me though.
Right now EVE uses 250 mb after...what can it be? 5 hours? Something like that.
This is my signature. |

Truly never had this problem before, same as those that have never had CTD problems. I never had a mem leak problem until now, and I still do right now by the way, but in turn I am blessed with constant CTD's. I will try the turning off of the sidebar, chatbot and changing it to text only tonight and accept it as a temporary solution..
