Ater the success of the last tournament's betting system (and the spam mail I got today about it), I've decided to run the same betting pool system again for this tournament. Rules/details follow:
* All bets must be sent to the character Ombeh Zombeh (Omberokoku corp). It's my alt.
* All bets must have the Alliance/Team name you are betting on as the comment
* All bets must be recieved by 14:59 eve time on the 14th July, anything after that will be considered a donation to the prize pool
* Bets must be in multiples of 1mil, anything extra will be added to the prize pool (so, if you send 1.5mil, 500k will be considered a donation)
* You can bet on as many teams as you want, it's your isk, i don't care.
* I will be taking a cut of 5% for myself for the deal of running the betting pool
* The winning team will also get a 5% cut of the total prize pool.
* Payouts to winners will be done within 24hours of the event ending
How it works:
Everyone sends in the isk and the team they are betting on to win the championship. All the isk goes into one large pool to be won. Those that bet on any of the losing teams win nothing. Those that bet on the winning team get a percantage of the total pool as their winning prize, based on the amount bet on that team.
an example:
Big Blue wins the competition (unlikely, but possible)
there is a grand total of 1bil in the pot
Seleene bet 10mil on Big Blue
Blacklight bet 5mil on Big Blue
DigitalCommunist in a fit of insanity bet 85mil on Big Blue
the payouts should this eventuate would be:
Seleene gets 90mil
Blacklight gets 50mil
Digi gets 765mil
I would get 50mil as the person running the pot, Big Blue would get 50mil for being teh winning team.

First off there are 1005 mill in Your example, not 1 bill like You wanted it to be.
Secondly there is something wrong with Your distribution between the 3 betters mentioned, betting 10 mill vs 5 mill nets 90 mill vs 50 mill`? That doesnt make sense ^^

to answer your questions: If everyone ends up betting on the same team, the isk will be returned, no-one would profit except for me and the tourny winner, so no point.
The reason the betting is open is for those 'smart' bets. As I said in my original post, it's your isk, I don't care how much you bet and who you bet it on. If you want to place 'smart' bets, go for it

Yes, absolutely. comments is easier, but mail is fine if you want to send a lump sum with multiple bets.

swethern, if you put 50mil on BOB right now, and no-one elsebet,and bob won, you would recieve 6.4% of the pool, which after the fee, would equal 106,437,824isk.
MC would be 22.1% and 363,584,071 isk
edit: So yes, putting 50mil on both teams, as long as one of them won, you would still be ahead. However, if a heap more isk (roughly 126mil) is put on bob, and bob win, you may end up losing isk if no other team is bet on. Basically, the payout ratio adjusts itself based on which teams and how much isk is bet on them. In the last 2 days for example, IAC has gone from a roughly 100:1 payout to 8:1.
