hey guys
Currently im living in high sec for what seems a pointless act :/
i am looking at moving in to a c1 or c2 with my x3 accounts +1 extra account to run around high sec :)
my players are all indi with 1 orca pilot and 2 hulk pilots altho all 3 can fly barges. one can fly a decent fitted battlecruiser, oh almost forgot and perfect scan char along with all 3 able to do PI.
i have given almost every game style a go all but WH living and as i am kinda bored i would like to try it for my self.
I suppose my question is: Can a single player like my self live and survive in this style
my idea is too take a medium pos with hanger, refinery, and some ecm and missile bats and just jump in and give it a go. mine refine move refined out from WH and sell in high.
Possible ? or just join a already established WH corp ?.

With 3 you could "solo" a C2. But you will always be better off in a corp.
A C1/C2 isn't going to yeild you a lot (I've seen figures saying between 50 to 150 million, went I solo I tend to hit that low end in C2s). You willl always have to clear sleepers about 15 minutes after you first enter the site (one time deal per site not so bad), they won't be too hard to clear with a bc (read as Drake.) Your number one problem though will be locals and day-trippers. In a C2 you will be fresh meat and either have to run or have a guard. The reason this is, C2's almost always have a hi, low or null static means LOT of traffic. Most starters corps go for a nice C2 with a C1 or C3 static or move into a C1 with a C2 static. They move in put a tower on most the moons to reduce others ablity to move in without asking or using force. So it might be hard to find a spot to call home. On to of all that you have to fuel your POS, not that hard to do but if the POCO tax on your PI is high and you are always facing loses on your mining ops that expenses for fuel to keep you POS powered can feel pretty high.
It is serously better to get into a corp, go to a C3 or C4 mine for the corp and have them invested in keeping you safe, you'll make more and have more fun... plus the solo route is probably why you are getting bored. |

solo with few accounts is not a problem. was running before c1 ls static solo with one account (sites and mining)
c1 lowsec static - only one static but you can have random k162 from both k-space and from other wormhole space but still very low traffic
using c1 highsec static will make more traffic from outside or other holes but you should be ok
c2 static highsec with c1 or c3 static - plenty of traffic but better income if you know what u doing you will be ok also if your secondary static wormhole leads to unoccupied system you can run sites for additional profit
c2 static lowsec with c2 static quite better as you will have less traffic but you never gonna be alone so same as above. you can use c2 connection inside your wormhole if found system unoccupied and seem to be safe you may run sites for more profit
c3 static lowsec or highsec . pretty good hole but traffic can be painful . with your multiple accounts you will run sites there with no problem and will bring more profits.

If you don't have enough skills to run a nice money making L4 mission group then you don't have enough to run anything in W space beyond maybe a C2. Also a C3 is going to become an intersection of WTFBBQ at some point it seems now days.
I would recommend you a C2 and try your best to close your exits. Also in the morning you will get a list of names on your scanner, they will all be in a logical group like AAZ, ACZ, AFZ, BAZ and those are the hits that were there at downtime. During your day if you never warp to any of those and you never see another odd name like GHJ pop up you are probably fairly safe. But spam your D-Scan to make sure.
Remember that roid sites and sleeper sites can be seen by all with no probes, cloaky fleets can ruin your day.
Also train a basic alt on one of your accounts to a heron with basic scan skills. Log him off in your hole in case you lose all your pods. |

Recommend joining an established wormhole corp in a c2. Will give you much more fun than solo ~Bringer of happiness

Solo work is fun imo, but joining a wh corp is really the best option, or at least create one. :) |

C3 LS hole with good PI. Max out the PI and scanning skills. Large tower with guns and ECM.
PI will pay for the fuel if you do it right. You can mine and react gas for added income. Get a few toons on a good passive shield drake to run sites when you are ready. When you have the isk, drop the pocos and replace or make a deal with the current owner(s).
c1/c2/c3 hs has too much traffic. Although these days the C3 LS are getting multiple random exits. Just scan them down and make sure you warp to them to start the timers. When the other exits are gone and you are sure the only LS exit is new, you can feel a little more comfort but always spam DSCAN. |

You would be fine, except if you intend on mining, make sure to either a) have a scout on all wormhole entrances, or b) collapse all entrances and do not warp to your fresh static connection. Watch for new anomalies and warp if one appears. People can warp directly to ore sites without scanning so you're dead if you afk mine. (Hopefully they change it back to scannable ore sites)

Quick note on mass limitations: If you want to move into a C1 you're going to have to build an Orca in there, as you won't be able to jump one in. Once it's in there - it's stuck, so plan on kissing it goodbye at some point.
If you live in a C2; you can bring the orca in with you. However, there aren't a lot of HS connected C2s and C3s unoccupied - so if you don't want to get friendly with a corp you may have to settle for a LS C2 or C3 Wormhole. You could evict someone, but to be fair, that seems like work. |

I've recently taken over a PI-rich C1 with a HS static, J104335, and I'm inviting other corporations with mining/industrial/PI interests to set up shop for purposes of mutual protection (and, frankly, to benefit my corp through passive PI tax, which is set at 4%). At the moment we have two corporations in the wormhole, each with well defended towers and cadres of pilots who can fend off attacks. As such, if you're interested in trying out wormhole life in an autonomous but relatively safe way without huge expenditure, you might want to consider giving my WH a shot.
The downside, of course, to having multiple corps around is a general lack of sites to run, but they would be C1 sites anyway so that's not much of a loss. If you're interested shoot me an email and we can talk. |

A c2 is fine. That's where I lived. Use a drake, cyclone, tengu, or loki. When I started out I used a typhoon. Worked awesome. But honestly I can't see myself joining a c2 wormhole corp. Splitting that income between a bunch of people sounds awful. Either go to c4 and up and join a real corp, or run small and light in a c2. Its better income than missions but eh looking back I think I enjoyed living in the c2 solo because I was kind of pushing my own boundaries. Its not particularly difficult and you can run c2 sites in anything. They're easier than missions. This Space Intentionally Left Blank |

But yeah I lived solo out there for 2 years almost. Take my advice I know my ****.
1. If you live in c2 I don't recommend using your t3 ships. Your income isn't high enough to cover how often you get ganked potentially.
2. Use a "dickstar" defense. Fit your tower with a shitload of ecm. 6 of each racial ecm and 6-8 hardeners is plenty. You will not be able to defend yourself solo. Its just not happening. So use the dickstar to make it so inconvenient to push you out that nobody bothers.
3. Use a large tower. There's no reason not to. The fuel costs aren't that bad. I felt like a Moran because I started in a med and had to redo everything not 2 months later. This Space Intentionally Left Blank |

Sorry kinda multitasking and adding more info as I go. Don't use expensive mining ships. If you use a hulk I'll come out ther and gank you myself. Then I'll laugh.
In lower classes you're not rolling in mad bank like the upper classes so although the income is nice, its not "I can lose a tengu every week" nice. Welll actually if you daytrip to a c3 it is but still. Point is don't be a maniac.
Mining is good out there but the big issue with c2 mining is Arkonor isn't actually all that common. Every field has a decent chunk but I could clear it out in under two hours. Its something to dabble in when bored. Its hardly a full nullsec miners income. If you want to make it work you need to jack off all trades. When I was out there I mined, cleared anoms, hacked, archaeologized, did PI, ganked some dudes, and still occasionally daytripped to highsec to ninja or pvp in lowsec. And that was when my main was only like 8 months old! ANYWAYS at the high ends things change, but low end class 2 wormholes while profitable and fun do not make you space rich. They make you a badass. You have fun, you live on your own, and you make enough to live a life of luxury. But you still need to exercise caution and diversify your income. I use to live in a C2 with C5/NS statics. It was a challenge at first but after I got settled down, it was amazing. I could farm C5 sites{200m in blue each} & run the core gas sites. Nullsec exits would provide ice, mining, ratting isk, bpc's from ded sites.
That approach is not for the risk averse & moving is a *****. |

Whoa. That's kinda awesome. What were you clearing C5 with? Fleet of alts in heavily pimped ships or was it a gang you flew with? This Space Intentionally Left Blank |
