I read up on fits for my ships, lets say a Mackinaw, and the lists of Fits from these very forums wont work. I run out of capacitor or power. I'm not understanding why. Currently I have level 1 stuff because the level 2's wont work. I have the skills trained to run them, but once I add them to the slots, they gray out and tell me I need more power or capacitor. Currently my rigging slots are empty and I'm sure that is a part of the problem, however, to make life and this game easier I thought I would come here and ask for direction. What exactly do I need training in to get these fits to work and have sufficient power. This game is about formulas, can I get a few from you all? thanks Live Pure, Speak the Truth, Right Wrongs, Be Fair and Be Just... That said: Many ships are tight, unless you have an implant or rig fitted to compensate. There are 2 generic fitting skills in your engineering category that should be trained to V CPU Management Power Grid management There are also skills that specifically target the power grid or CPU requirements of certain modules. Those are more often found in weaponry skilling. Mining Upgrades is a skill that helps with CPU for mining applications.

Major Xadi Celestial Phoenix Industries 37	Posted - 2014.07.04 11:16:00 - [4] - Quote I'd get rid of the MWD. It's not going to help alot and will chew up powergrid. When you warp to a belt, bookmark 1or 2 asteroids. You can then warp out and back to your BMs. This will negate the need for a mwd. Also what level do you have mining upgrades trained to as this skill will reduce the cpu penalty the 3 upgrades cost you. My indy alt never uses a prop mod in his mackinaw. If he goes to an ice belt, I BM a chunk of ice, warp out, then warp to the ice. I'd replace the mwd with an asteroid analyzer. This will save you some time as you will know how much of an ore or ice is left in any roid after you've been hitting it with your strips. When it's close to depleted, you can figure the % of your next cycle which will be required to deplete it, and shut dff your strips early. This will also allow you to sometimes get the last remaining bit of ore if another miner is mining that same roid and isn't paying attention to his analyzer, or doesn't have one.

Cap rechargers and SMC rigs are there so you could stop lasers mid-cycle when there is no enough ore for full cycle and start them right away on new rock. Of course this is paper thin, 10k ehp but if you want tank use skiff. If you have CPU and PG skills at V, MU IV and Jury Rigging IV it should fit without problems (EveHQ shows 319 CPU and 31 PG is needed). Because everybody mines in 0.5 mission hubs with local maxed out... As for OP's question, if you cannot use fit I posted you have something seriously frakked up with your fitting skills. Get EFT/EveHQ/pyfa and find out what skill you are missing. Fitting mining barge/exhumer is really not brain surgery, after lazors, upgrades and surface scanner there is little you really need and can put there. Then you can get the loot and salvage with minimal extra effort. But don't fly your slow-ass barge all over the belt chasing a couple hundred ISK worth of stuff.

It leads to a tremendous loss of time and adequate skill training. I originally marveled in a separate forum string when people would say they could have a ship up and ready for fighting in 4 to 6 weeks, no problem. Of course a player with 4-5-6 years experience can do that, they know the in's and out's of the game. They've forgotten what it's like to have to figure these thing out as a beginner.
