Can Amarr chars only get Amarr agents? If so does this mean anyone who has gone Amarr can only be given Charisma implants?
If I can get agents of another race how do I do it?
PS only being able to get the most useless implant in the game would be a major handicap to anyone who is Amarr. And would make doing the agent missions completely pointless.
Anyway any and all answers to this question would be greatly appreciated. thanx

I have heard, but not personally confirmed, that you can get agents from other races once your faction standing with that race is 2.0+
----- Eve - the place where is pays to be lucky to get ahead. But don't count on hard work my friend. It is no substitute for a +20 luckstone. |

The easiest way, at least for me, is to fly to a different area (minmatar, gallante), and start killing pirates in the belts there. This'll raise your standing with both concord, and that faction.

At this point, no character is limited to agents because of their race. Other factors may prohibit you from getting agents such as standings.
Check around at the different companies and see what faction they represent. You will find there are quite an assortment at your disposal.

No, all you need is a +2.0 faction standing to an empire.
At that point, you can find a Level 1 agent in one of that empires' corps, who accepts clients on dock, and starting work for them.
As a super dooper bonus, corporations now not only show which empire they are aligned with, but also the positive and negative faction movements you can expect.
This makes the whole thing a bit of a doddle.
20 minutes or so doing Show Info on as many corps as you can stomach, and you should have the next few months planned out

For a start I wouldn't know how to get another agent apart from getting the usual referal from the agent I'm currently using.
Secondly I don't see why the hell I should have to just because the race I choose gets gimpped implants that next to no one wants.
I have gotta one charisma implant and I have a good mind to just trash it because it's on no use to my char what so ever.
All lvl3+ agents should drop all implants it's the only fair way to do it. **** if I had known I couldn't get Memory/perception/will power from that damn race I wouldn't of chose it.
This game is fast losing any atraction it had from me.
I have to ask, do the people that implement these things actually play the damn games? More and more each day I'm starting to believe that game devs are the most clueless bunch of idiots to of ever walked the earth.
Pfft balanced games my arse, what a joke. "Oh you chose Amarr did yo? Well you can do 130 missions and get one **** poor charisma implant that will be of no use to you or for that matter anyone else".
It's bad enough that the missions are so boring that you are lucky to avoid sliping into a coma but to top it off you get total crap like chrisma as a reward.
I'm completely fed up with the game atm and I have only had it for a month and it seems like a month to long.
God a can't believe I spent this much time on missions and never ever had a chance of getting anything decent. I am so damn angry for allowing myself to be sucked into this crap. Excuse me while I go out side and give myself an uppercut.

You need +2 faction standing with a faction. Then find a corp that is aligned with the faction (eg. Quafe is a Gallente corp).
Do a Show Info on the corp, go to the Agents tab, and do a Show Info on each of the Level 1 agents. Find one that says "Accepts Clients on Dock: YES", fly over to where they are based, and dock.
Bingo. You now have a new Level 1 agent.
Long term, all factions have allies and enemies. You can see how this pans out by looking at the info for a corp or race (at work, can't remember which one shows it).
As you do agent work, some faction standings will rise, and others will fall. Be aware of this.
As for the rest of your comments - it's considered bad form to ask for help, then whine and moan because what you've been told doesn't match up with what you want to happen.
You've said you're new to agents and don't understand how they work - don't jump to conclusions and go off on the deep end based on your one forum post.
There is more - a lot more - to agents than just the implants.
How much time do you have to invest in skills and tactics to use a Battleship effectively?
Why should agents be any different? They are more powerful, in game terms, than any mere ship can be.
Implants are the tip of the iceberg.
Don't throw a hissy fit because it turns out you need to expend considerable effort to get somewhere.
If nothing else, people will be far less willing to help you out on the forums.

Excellent reply thanx.
I was just venting some anger over the ammount of time I have spent on these missions for little to no return. I'm still not happy about missions as they are so dead boring, but your explaination went along way to clearing a few important things up for me.
Thanx again :)

I got an from another race agent by doing courier missions - suddenly I recieved a mail from the agent. My rating with that race was below +1.00 --------------------------------------------- When you have to kill a man, it takes nothing to be polite |

When you've done over 120 missions for an agent without a referral, or you've done loads of work for a corp only to find that they have no Level 3 agents, just some Level 4 and 5s - then you can vent
Not to mention seeing your faction standings wiped out when you start doing missions for buggy agents - that was a bit galling
Agents are a very very long term thing, and they will require many days of tedium.
But, long term, they've got the potential for some serious reward ....

Edited by: Callum McGrath on 30/09/2003 10:18:40 I started off doing missions and got some lv3 ones, when the implants came out I thought, ohh, I'll get some soon, didn't get any implant missions - oh well, I'll build up another corp... oops that looks nerf'd - I'll carry on.
Eve isn't about take this line of action and wait until you get rewarded, you need to work at it, and sometimes you'll get slapped in the face with a rather large damp fish, but carry on!
I'm in the process of working out how I can build my standings up with all of the main Races, looking at all the NPC corps working out which one will accept me, then thinking right, then I need to do missions for this one to build up the faction loss for doing so.
It's not simple and sometimes it makes sense to sit in station and spend a few hours working out a plan - oops, yes that's the problem, you have to think for yourself - too difficult want a nice simple game which I can complete...
It's hard, difficult and jolly frustrating from time to time, but in the end set your own goals, rather than the 'someone else got an implant so why not me' goal, in the end you may find it very gratifying.

And you could read the latest patch notes:
Quote: The agent missions which give out implants are a bit less frequent now, and they are distributed to different factions instead of all being dished out by the same agent.
I'm sure this means that you can get all implant missions from any races agents, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm this? ------------------------ Collector and flyer of starships

There was another thread here which contained the Word of Zrakor on the matter.
Basically, each race's corporations will give out the same type of implant.
So you can only get Charisma from Amarr, for example.
Which makes sense - ugly bunch, that lot
It makes sense on another level - it's very very difficult to do work for all 4 races with Level 3 agents at the same time.
This fosters trade, livens up the market a bit, etc. etc.

Ok so killing pirates in the same region as the agents you want to work for will raise your standing with them will it?
If so does it matter which pirates in that area you kill ie 1K pirates or 4K pirates? Will tougher pirates raise your standing faster is what I;m really asking?
Does mining in that area also raise your standing?
I've moved from Amarr to Caldari space only because I want a Caldari agent because I have no interest in getting charsima implants. Getting them is more less pointless for me from what I have seen as they really don't add anything to the char that I have.I just need to know the most sure fire way to raise my standing with the Caldaris.
I am not interested in paying the stupid prices people are asking for memory I would rather do it for myself.
I know it must be obvious to most if not all that I am only new. So any added advice would be greatly appreciated, thanx :)

I'm assuming you've done some missions for the Amarr then? Caldari are their allies, so as you Amarr standing increases, so will your Caldari.
Killing pirates is the slowest way to raise faction standing, but the higher the pirate bounty (and thus the harder they are to kill) the higher the faction increase.
Your best bet, in order of preference:
1) Continue doing agent missions for the Amarr until your Caldari faction is +2.0 - then get a Caldari agent 2) Continue doing agent missions for the Amarr until your Concord standing is +2.0, then get a Concord agent, and do missions for him until the faction standings you are interested in are +2.0 3) Kill convoys belonging to the enemies of the faction you're interested in (ie. if you want Caldari, knock off some Gallente convoys) Last time I did this (a while ago, to be sure) it raised faction more than killing NPC pirates 4) As you suggest, waste some NPC pirates in that faction's space
Oh, and BTW - a charisma implant will let you train Social skill that much faster. With Social at Level 4, you will find that life with any agent is a lot more rewarding
Cheers, TOM
