When you're ingame, visit that website. It is an unofficial bounty list for players with positive ratings (ex: ore thieves, bad businessman, and pirates with positive security).
Take a look sometime. You can post your own bounties, free of charge - of course.

Edited by: Sara Kerrigan on 29/09/2003 06:25:23 Why is everyone afraid of website trust? Oh no! Someone's going to find out im hiding on the highway systems!
Oh and, nice site~ I'll have to make use of this if the bountys get higher to my liking. ______________

Very nice site indeed. Especially like the guilty of and more info section, gives a bit more life to the crimes. Hope you get a lot more posts.

Why ingame only? Why trust?
I hate the ingame browser, so no thanks.
Sara: Everyone doesn't hide in highway systems you know, there are actually times when you don't want to give your location away...

Good idea.
As others mentioned already I would:
- Make it both a out of game and ingame site;
- Remove the trusted site requirement: most fellows in the fighting club (be them bad guys or good guys) don't like letting the webmasters know where they are in EVE.
Keep up with the good work

Excellent idea, but you need to remove the restrictions making it an in-game only site.
It's nice to check up on these things whilst at work, to plan out a productive evening hunched over the keyboard

Lots of info about you, location, corp etc are sent to the server via HTTP headers.

Edited by: Doctor One on 29/09/2003 17:34:31 Folks,
Careful when dealing with this guy. His lack of morals go beyond role-playing, and I think they actually reflect the type of person he is in real life.
This post will give you an idea of the kind of person you are dealing with. We can also thank his old DAoC guild for bringing his past history to our attention on this website. __________________________________________________

Edited by: Sara Kerrigan on 29/09/2003 18:38:45 If he were to turn it into a non-trust or out-of-game site, it would not have the features for you to place a bounty on someone--because the trust content (which sends your character's name) is the only way to 100% verify who placed the hit. Otherwise, anyone could impersonate you by writting down your name as the person that will payout the ISK.
And if you're so afraid of people knowing your location, just use an alt char. And agents can find your location anyways... I have them in nearly ever region that has stations including the deep-space 0.0 systems.
To get back on topic: though I have no probs with the trust, maybe you'd better listen to what they're saying here Czar-- split the site up: make the bounty list available to both trust and non-trust, with of course placing a bounty restricted to just trust.
I do that with my in-game trust site where i sell pirate loot. Because we have a form where players can place orders on stuff we have in stock; people complained about trust, so I opened up a separate link for them to view the loot separately and just evemail me for anything they want [though I give them second priority over the people who use the form because it's easier for us]. http://www.pak.ca/ ______________

I know I was being sarcastic :) What I need to do is get a suggestion asked at the CSM-- for them to improve the IGB to display on the trust request EXACTLY what information is being requested--so that you will know if it's only asking for your name (that shouldnt be a problem for anyone...) or if it's also checking for your current location. My site for one, *only* logs the character's name and *only* if they submit our Item Request form. But there's no way for people to verify that and "trust" my Trust Content :http://www.pak.ca/ ______________

I'll consider those suggestions. I use the trust so I know who is posting - I don't want fake bounties. It also allows me to remove certain people from accessing the website.
I think I'll allow people to access it through other browsers too, but I will not allow people to post if they are not logged into Eve (sounds fair?)

supposedly i have a 5million bounty on there. if somebody can tell me if this is true i'd be glad to hear that :).
and don't be stupid czar, sending me an evemail with this address. like hell i'm going to trust your website - it would give my location away.

yeah so i'm not on the list - i guess it was a poor attempt by czar to get me to reveal my location. nice try, maybe next time - now to find you for that 2.5mil bounty on your head.

Sara: True; but faking still isn't that hard. I can with no trouble fake that I'm in the Polaris system and that my name is, say, Stavros to your site

After my server was reset recently, I have implicated the changes to the unofficial bounty list.
www.techoperant.com
You no longer need to view the website in your Eve browser. It will now appear in all browsers (except it looks a little better in the Eve browser). Also, now you no longer need to add the website to your trusted list unless you plan to add or delete bounties - this, of course, is to varify your indentity (only your character name is logged).

nah, the smart orethieves steal from the less informed EvE community.
They probably dont even know the website is there, and we're not telling them.
