Keep them at range and nibble a bit. Or get a BS:) Or get some of your friends to help. But basically try keeping the succer at max range possible and smack him from the distance. (lasers can hit at 35km if set up right, or some hybrid with higher range). Just don't charge him. ______

This is a cool agent misson.
And the reward isn't half bad either...

Unless, of course, you lose two Moa's in the process ;)

How do you lose a Moa to a 50k pirate?
I can take 3 of them alone.
Use 250mm with thorium or something, and try to keep him at 20km+
This is my signature. |

when i warpped in i was 17km from him, he had started to hit me before i could get any real distance, even with after burners, my lasers had the range i just coulnd get there just have to make some money and get another cruiser, only another 4mil to go ... and no i am not able to make 1 mil in an hour i only play about 1 hour a day and i mostly do missions. not complaining just a bit of a change from the wack the 3k pirate ni |

I agree it was a cool mission but what reward did you get. I got a small amount of cash and the pleasure of killing 3 Emmisaries at the same time (I took a while). Nothing else.

Usually the reward is superconductors, and a drug called "drop".

Oh yeah...that stuff...it's funny that the drug is called "drop"...a little joke maybe?
Anybody have any follow-up missions needing this stuff?

lol.. sorry, but I had to laugh when I read that, just too funny (not that you lost 2 Moas, though). I killed the bugger in Thorax, I think my drones ate him, because I know I was busy trying to get some distance! Anyway, I warped out to recharge shields before doing his helpers, and when I warped back in, the bugger had respawned, and he smoked my ship! So whatever you do, don't warp in more than once... I ended up having 3 x 50k rats there at the same time.

Oh and remember that if you gang, the rats scale right along with your group. arrayed against us we had 10-12 moas, 20+ wreckers and a missile storm.....whoops. won't forget that in a hurry. |

Hmmm, never really had a problem with this. Kit your Moa out with a mix of 250mm rails and Heavy Beams. Put on 2x rocket launchers. Load cruise or heavy. Fit Shield booster and some armour. Rock and roll. Target the emissary and waste him. Warp out but dont dock. Get shields back. Warp in and toast what left. Job done :)

Uhmm... get a Kestrel; seriously....
3 afb's in middle slots, 3 x m-12 launchers with cruise missiles, 1 m-12 with defenders, set to autorepeat.
when you warp in, fire afb's and move out... set the orbit at ~60k. Use defenders to cover yourself from the moa's fire, break the rats' shields with emp or thermal missiles, then blow the armor and structure with explosive ones. You'll get your shields barely scratched, if that.
(the bounty and loot you get is worth far more than the cost of missiles you'll need... plus, it's fun to kill a heavy cruiser with a Kestrel =)

Do not warp out, not even if you don't dock.

I just had that one last night. Took him down with ease in my Omen! Used abs to get out of range (around 35km), med shield booster to buy some time (my shields were at 30% at one moment) and heavy lasers with EM crystals only. After I have reached 40km they stopped hitting me and I blasted them away. Reward was standard: 15x superconductors and 10x drop. And now the best part: The next mission was a mem implant
Just keep your range with abs, don't use mw drive. ______

yeah..... I remember this mission. I flew in expecting a merlin npc pirate. And there he was accompanied by unmmanned drone and something which i saw as Guristas Emissary... which i assumed was the easy target. I dealt with the merlin fast enough and proceeded to slaughter the "easy" vessel...... I was a bit shocked when i saw the picture i had locked onto. A moa.... like mine.... launching missiles and firing like a crazed monkey.... and me without missiles and 2 rails...... however...... after losing all my armor....... 75% of my hull....... the bastard blew up.
Caldari Prime: Think of that moment, remember what they did...

If u need a friend to help u, but don't want to make a gang because it scales the amount of rat's, just make a copy of the bm and give it to your m8(s). Been on one of these missions as backup, and the 2x50k's did almost take the 3000 shield on my scorp, but at least that kept my friend free to go for the kill with his thorax equipped with ion blasters

One technique would be to drop of your ship and get in a shuttle...warp to the location with f11 map open, to work out roughly where it is. shuttle gets blown up, return in your ship - but NOT to the bookmark location, somewhere else near, and scan to find them. Then approach from a safe distance...

What is the name of this mission? Want to be sure I'm kitted out properly after I accept it, though thus far my lvl III kill missions have all been against frigates..

That mission was so easy in a Dominix, took about 15 seconds to kill the 50k rat and I only managed to engage 2 of 6 guns on the 6k before he was dead.
From what others have said, sounds like this could be a good way to get a 50K chain spawn going, warp in, kill the 6k and the unmanned ship, warp out. When you warp back, 2 x 50k, kill one, warp out. Repeat until you get bored.

Heh, true, but the concerns are for the majority of us folk doing this mission that don't have the luxury of an battleship to do them in.

The way I beat difficult pirates is I warp in, and shoot at them to get them to target my ship... I then make distance just enough to where they can't shoot me. Next I launch my drones and let them eat away at the big guy. I killed a 20k pirates with alcolite drones (the tiny cheap cheap guys) without suffereing any damage on my own. "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"
