After familiarizing myself a bit with the Biker culture (BC) it is clear to me that many aspects of corporation and alliance work is similar to what goes on in the world of bikers.
Not only do we share the same idea of a hierarchic command structure, we also embark on a mission to implement different kinds of steps to climb before reaching a level of mutual respect, aswell as within corp/alliance as between other corporations/alliances (C/A) - whether or not others are seen as friends or foes.
Our C/A tags are of the same importance to us as patches are in the BC. Even though I am yet to see a war decc. based on a disagreement on such a tag or a logotype, I am sure that conflicts do rise concerning such matters. Conflicts in EVE are more territorially related ones, and also; it should surprise no one that some conflicts erupt based on one C/A's self-proclaimed need to show off.
Where am I going with this thread? Keep reading and you will find out.....
In the BC there is a group of riders who do not favor either side of the coin, who do not think of themselves as a ôlaw abiding 1%ö kind of group, and that after many years of struggling to earn respect today travel every great event and is met with that well-deserved respect. Take a wild guess who they are...
So the reason for this thread is to ask you pilots of EVE if there are or ever will be a C/A that will take on the role of being able to move relativity freely between regions, be met with respect and in the long run help prevent wars and the like?

Uhm, I see one problem: In EVE preventing war isn't always a good thing, because many people enjoy war. That's why they make isk, train skills, learn to fly new ship types that are exclusively meant to kick someone elses butt etc.

That's not "biker culture", that's every male-dominated social group since the first humanoid bipeds began huddling around fires. Little surprise that this is the state of things in Eve.
Concerning your proposal, as has been pointed out, what you're suggesting is impossible because conflict in its innumerable forms is Eve Online's raison d'etre.

It is BC alongside "every" male-dominated social group.

Not impossible, rather a goal to strive towards.

What if what he wants to do in peace, is take over a region? That philosophy contradicts itself from the get-go. ________________________________________________

Most every corporation in EVE into PvP can be seen as a bikergang.
Them being hellbent on evildoings and sheer destruction prevents them from becoming memorable.
About them household names.

heh - point. In Jericho's case we dont want to claim anything... but if someone comes along and tries to tell us what we can and can't do - then we swap words for antimatter
