drone controll units... as many as you can fit, otherwise, you'll be sitting at POS... if fleet battles were possible at all, you might think about remote reppers

Having repairers is acctually extremly valuable if you are in a fleet situation with lots of ships that don't have repairers having to be fixed up fast after warping out.
Also fitting a cloak on a carrier makes it even tougher to kill because you can disappear if they probe you...

in one of the various carrier question threads, people stated and confirmed, cloak = fighters become useless
might be useful if things go ass up, but still, if your at a POS or can jump out its moot

Edited by: Noriath on 27/06/2006 08:33:11 A carrier is expensive enough to keep an ace up your sleeve in my opinion. Especially if you cannot use 5 drone controll mods anyways (which is likely since it's a rank 8 skill) you should fit the cloak in case things go to hell.
By the way, carriers need one more highslot.

3xlarge nos, 2xenergy neutraliser Sensor booster, 4xcap relay Captital repairer, 3x Armor hardener, EANM, Damage control
Faction or officer if you can afford it
And yes, I hate staying at SS in it. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |

Yeh that setup seems about right to me. If your using it for support tho u might want to use remote cap energy transfers/armour reps etc in the high slots Carriers are great because all you pretty much have to worry about in meds and lows are cap and tank, no dmg mods/tackling equipment normally needed. Whatever you do don't fit it with all stabs in the lows like we came accross about a month ago. you know who you are

Advanced Drone Int isn't out yet, so your not going to be fitting any drone control mods.
First you need to tell us what your going to be using the carrier for. For fleet it doesn't matter as you probably wont see any real fleet action. For smaller 10 on 10's you might.

That's true i have not seen many carriers on the frontline in fleetbattles, so a safespot or pos sounds about right, but you never know :)

You can always go:
4xDCU,1xRemote rep 5xMultispec 6xWCS
This setup makes baby Jesus cry, but it is as unkillable as it gets. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |

A carrier with no support should either jump SS or log. I take it that one did neither.
