Edited by: Chang Fei on 27/06/2006 08:24:35 Just started the game today, just got my Punisher. Now I'm trying to decently equip it so that I can do missions. I read the other Punisher threads but the stuff is too expensive or I just don't have the skills to equip them.
Thanks.
So far I'll use this:
High 3x Medium Pulse I
Medium ...
Light ...

That was helpful?
Anyway, here is a proposed setup
3 Dual Light Beams, gamma/multifreqency crystal for close range, and microwave crystal for longer range Afterburner, Cap Recharger Small Armor Repairer, Energised Adaptive Nano, and two Cap Relays
But there are more setups listed in the sticky at the top of this forum, or more specifically in here

honestly if your going to do missions mainly then start training caldari before its too late! kestrel-> caracal -> raven. thats the way to go, dont let anyone tell you differnt. Amarr sucks for doing missions, i know cuz i tried it

Amarr are actually pretty good for missions. They can't, of course, compare with the absurd joke that is killing npcs in missile ships. So absurdly easy that my brain dead grandma could do it, but doesn't mean the ship is bad. Some people actually like challenging gameplay, that's why there are 3 other races.

Amarr do missions/NPCing fine. Sure Raven's the best but what comes around goes around and it'll get nerfed or lose it's effectiveness one day. Just because the Raven is very good doesn't make the Amarr gimped at all, and just because the Raven is very good doesn't mean everyone, their mosther and their mother's alt has to fly one to have fun/be effective.
The set up suggested above was good btw. If you can fit a Small Nos then perhaps swap the cap recharger for a stasis web, or a cap power relay for a heatsink, but I suspect that wont fit CPU wise. Anways use that set up as a solid, realiable base and experiment by swapping the odd thing around to keep it interesting until you jump into your next ship (Maller or Omen will both do nicely). - - - - - - - - - -

Edited by: Belial02 on 28/06/2006 16:01:00 I use a Punisher myself in pvp and in pve.
For PvP (maybe a bit heavy skill-wise when you're beginning):
- 1 dual light pulse, 2 medium pulses all gamma crystals, 1 NOS (named better)
- 1 named AB, one named scrambler
- 1 named armor repper, 2 cap relays, 1 heat sink (named if possible)
If i keep on killing rifters with that setup, ill have to ask my CEO to change my title to rifter-killer or something some day
PvE is basically the same settings but depending on the damage i got to tank i fit it with the according plates in low slots. I usually remove one CPR and the HS, but thats just me.

Edited by: Wodin Drukvik on 28/06/2006 16:51:57 For low-level missions, I preferred Dual Light Beams as the small increments of damage made it easy to pop fragile things with minimum wastage.
Highs: 3xDual Light Beam I(Multifrequency, Microwave)
Mid: 1x1MN Afterburner 1xStasis Webifier
Lows: 1xSmall Armor Repairer 2xCap Power Relay 1xPlate - this will vary depending on fitting skills. Start with what you can fit and work up to a 200.
Once you've got the 200 plate, you can continue to vary the setup as your fitting skills improve. Perhaps you want higher-DPS lasers, perhaps your cap skills allow you to replace one of the two remaining relays with a heat sink for more damage, or an EANM for more tanking. The Punisher is a versatile little ship, and quite fun to fly.
For the comedy "surprise" in pvp once you have good fitting skills try the following:
Highs: 3x200mm Autocannon(EMP) 1xSmall Nosferatu
Mid: 1x1MN Afterburner 1xWarp Disruptor
Low: 1xMicro Auxilary Power Core 1x400mm plate 1xSmall Armor Repairer 1xCapacitor Power Relay
Not particularly original, but having double the HP and resistances of any non-AF frigate in the game is a lot of fun. :) --
Mission runner footnote: if you intend to regularly solo level four missions, stop now and swap to Caldari. While other races can certainly do it, the Raven is incredibly efficient at it, and after the twentieth time you've done a mission you're not going to care about accomplishment, just getting it over with.
