In 2013 we had around 150 people meet up in a bar to talk Eve, making us one of the largest Eve events in the Europe. This year we're going bigger and better! We have a beautiful venue where we will hold presentations, we will have more developers and more Amsterdam than before. We also have a brand new website! Just you know... english is learned in the NLs from primary school and up, so almost everyone speaks it.

Especially since a train ticket to get there costs Gé¼23+ retour (and that's with 40% korting) and you are looking at a minimum outlay of Gé¼50-100, depending on how 'gezellig' it is (Amsterdam and fancy places aren't cheap. God help you if you start buying rounds of drinks). Presentations I can follow online. I doubt any Dev is gonna say anything drastically new, exciting, revealing etc. They've proven that they don't listen to the player base and push unwanted changes through regardless of feedback. Basically the format of last year (pub, drinking, stories, a dev) appeals to me more. Also: "Evesterdam is organised by Valentijn Geirnaert (Dierdra Vaal in Eve) as a 100% volunteer, non-profit event" So a non-profit event charging money for entrance? Why? Because the webshop costs money in order to purchase tickets? Huh? Get a big(ger) pub. Entrances to pubs are usually free ! Huzzah. Unless ofc you get free drinks included in the price, then It's all good. The only thing I fear, is running out of beer !

If you feel that the price isn't worth it that is your call, but the majority of feedback I got after last year was that people wanted more presentations and things like that. And the only way to provide that is by renting a venue. And venues cost money. We have more stuff planned but I can't commit to any of that unless we reach a certain number of tickets sold (and thus create room in the budget). How did this fun pub meet turn into some Eve Vegas/ mini FanFest in under a year? Don't get me wrong V - I really enjoyed last year and all the effort you poor into E'DA. But unless there's actually going to be speakers list full of CCP it's now worth my 12 beers and I'd rather just hit the pubs with my fellow capsuleers.

Though i find the ticketprice also a bit steep. But since i organise parties myself i know Amsterdam is very bad with renting and such. Maybe the organisation might want to consider other cities for next time like Utrecht or Rotterdam. TivoliVredenburg might be a nice location for an EVE meet and might be considerably cheaper with rent. It has some HARPA features and a dinosaur, so its a winwin here. :) But anyway, i hope the coffee is awesome there and am looking forward to hanging out with fellow eve players.
