...and I started out going 1 direction. Microwarping or just normal flying. And I just kept going for say a week. Would I change sector automaticly or would I still be in the same system just WAY out. is there a limit to how far you can go within the syste?

I don't think anyone knows tbh. According to canbouncers though, the systems go on for ever, which is at least a bit sucky, but hey... _______________________________________________________________________

I guess you had to be very bored if you wanted to do this. And the answer is no, you will always stay in the same system. You are not registered in another system unless you jump in to it. And there is no limit to how far you can go within a system for the client would just simulate flying forever as he has not requested a system change from the server. ____________________________

I guess you cannot attack what you cannot find.
Are there going to be enhanced sensors? Wow wonder how long that would take to scan....

I was under the impression that stations can only be anchored to moons/planets, etc

Dunno...would be a bit odd if they didn't, at least to me. Haven't read anything either way, now that I think of it.

besides 1 au is average distance between earth and sun, it's 8 lightminutes (24*60*365*4,5)/8=295650 au witch is the distance between our sun and alpha centaury (nearest sun to our system).

Systems are nodes topologically connected via stargates. Can't fly between them, sorry to say.

My guess is the pirates would whine their asses off about that until the game forces stations to be anchored near orbital items like planets. After all how could they possibly do their job if people avoid them. :)

OMG somebody sticky this thread so we don't have to have a new "can I fly to another system without jumping?" thread every 2 weeks!

Or until the DEVs add an elite recon frigate that can warp to scanned objects or ships.
