Hi,
The EVE store (that thing where you pay real money for physical stuff) used to offer way more items than it does now, including basic T-Shirts with the EVE logo and the insignias for the empire factions (and some pirate ones, too). Now all I see there is the collector's edition, eve source, and some mustard band stuff or something like that. Is there still any official way to get the old stuff? |

They went when the old store full of lovely things died - then the new store came along with goodies designed for a group of people I have nothing in common with |

The selection is pretty dire. And expensive. That said, the stuff in the old store wasn't great either so when they opened the new store I was hoping to find some EVE-related merchandise I might like. Unlike the NEX store, the selection hasn't improved so I'm still waiting.
The latest thing appears to be velcro patches which one is supposed to stick onto other items of apparel. Maybe, once upon a time, I would have thought this was quite cool, but I'm a few decades past that now and I would imagine most of the playerbase is too. I wonder if CCP feed these Musterbrand people data on player demographics; it seems absurd to be pitching kids stuff at this community.
CCP has a huge range of IP that it could license out - I'm sure there must be loads of simple things that EVE players would buy up:
- Stylish clothing with discreet EVE logos that normal people would wear. Including socks.
- Ties
- Racial logo cufflinks
- Pens
- Wallets / key pouches (leather or fabric)
- Manbags [which don't have "Guristas" painted on the side]
- Notebooks / Diaries
- Wall /desk calendars
- Mice/keyboards/mousemats
- Duvet and pillow case with star map (oh yes!)
- CCP Guard bobble head
I'm sure there's other stuff that normal people would want, but I appear to be an internet geek and can't think of anything. Help me out... |

They are slowly... VERY slowly adding things, but as CCP said they are not a clothing or toy manufacturer, so they outsourced that to another company... they just need more damn options. I still want that bad ass looking eve dress shirt they showed at fan fest in 2013. I'd wear the crap out of the at work 10 years of eve... yea i'm an addict |

The old store selection wasn't great but at least it was a selection. And I could totally go for a EVE star-map duvet, if only so I can say that I'm "sleeping under the stars."

That argument would make more sense from them if it weren't for the fact that this merchandise existed previously and has now disappeared. It's not like they're making new stuff from scratch.

I was also hoping to purchase a t-shirt or two. I hope they reconsider or re-instate some of the older merchandise. Speaking from a retail POV, if you have the right merchandise (yes, you have to try different mixes out to see what sells) can be an additional source of revenue.
Hard to believe they can't find some way to make $$$ off this.

Well, you could still get the Caldari T-Shirt from Comedy Central if you want...
I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

POPE Well, you could still get the Caldari T-Shirt from Comedy Central if you want... Caldari players don't like to acknowledge this. "Confirming EVE is hot, batshit crazy, and puts out." -Omar Alharazaad "CAKE CANNOT HOLD UP TO BEING A CHARACTER DAMNIT." --áUnsuccessful At Everything |
