Edited by: Jon Draconus on 28/06/2006 10:36:45 After a month of waiting...I finally got my Cormorant back. Minus Fittings, ammo and the like. Then they took the insurance payoff back. Great. So I basiclly bought a new Destroyer. Thanks a ******* lot CCP, I could have done that without you...oh wait, I DID! So thanks to a month of waiting, I get to buy the same ship twice....WTF! This reimbursement thing has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Its worthless.
GOOD CALL FOLKS!

Edited by: Jim McGregor on 28/06/2006 10:33:52 They restored it to the state it was in before you lost it. Whats your problem? You want insurance AND a free ship?
But yeah, guess they should have replaced the items too.

of course they will take back the insurance...
if you never would have lost the ship, there would be no insurance payout...
loosing the fittings sorta sucks though. Was there a kill mail or the like? at least they could replace the lost items..

If it was the way it was before getting blown up it would HAVE everything on it, now wouldn't it? And thats not the issue, its a ******* month wait for something that would take me 5 mins to do myself.

You complain about getting your stuff back without duping isk or modules that haven't been destroyed?
You wont get nothing back in any other online game I know. Items left behind in a can after your ship goes boom have never been handed back.
You got a half equipped ship in reserve now. If the destroyed modules aren't equipped on the ship, you should jsut add a message to your petition. I heard that happens sometimes. GM are human beings too, mostly. --*=*=*--

I lost it doing Worlds Collide, a mission I've soloed many times in the same ship cause I got disconnected. I wasn't going back in there, all the ships were grouped together right where the gate drops you, instant pwnfest.

Set bookmark to your can. End the mission. Jump into your hauler. Warp to the bookmark and collect the leftovers from your ship and maybe those you destroyed. --*=*=*--

It's the length of time that's the problem.
If I have a BS and I cannot afford another one, and it gets blown up due to a bug....
Then I either pay for a new one - and I can't afford insurance. And when the reimbursement petition comes through I then have to wait until I have the money I got back from the insuance, in order to trade that in for the ship. I then either fly with an uninsured ship for a month, or I end up with 2 insured ships.
The alternative is not to play (or to play without the BS that I spent all my money on) for a month.
For the rest of us it's not so big a deal. Most of us can manage. But for some guy that just bought a battleship, and a bug prevented them playing for a month? That's pretty outrageous.

Edited by: Traxio Nacho on 28/06/2006 11:00:55 Well if you got disconnected because of your internet you were lucky they actually reimbursed you.
With regards to nothing being on your ship I would assume it all got left in the can which they cant return as it would duplicate stuff and cause problems.
Having to wait a month for an answer is a pain in the arse but not alot you can do about it.
Also note your ship that has been returned should have full insurance starting from the date it is returned.

hey hey
U got your ship back, whats with a complaint about it ?
If you had a pettition and wanted your ship back WHY spend the insurance if they didnt return your ship then spend it.
the fact you actually got your ship back shows fair play from CCP. There are thousands of players and numerous active pettitions. Patience is a virtue.
reimbursment pettions are not worthless after all u got your ship back !!!
BTW swearing isnt allowed and you should be aware that CCP can take action against you. Stabbing CCP in the back really isnt wise . . . . . . .

When you get reimbursed, all items that didn't get destroyed are restored and are still fitted. So was your ship really unfitted or where there just some modules lost?
My personal experience with the GMs and the customer support process was every single time a good one.

Ok first, you did not buy the ship again, loosing the insurance payout is only logical as you would otherwize have been given a free ship.
Next for the items, if you got reinburced then you should have gotten all modules that were destroyed back, like people have stated before stuff dropped in a can have never been replaced, at times this is bad but it is like that for a reason.

You were doing a mission and could not retrieve your can? Use your head man! Usually if you wait a while the NPC will head back towards their starting positions and thus you should be able to get to the can. If that fails you can always bookmark the mission point (fly in with a shuttle) and then cancel the mission. This will make all the NPC go *poof* and your can safe to pick upp.
I think you should be glad you got the ship back, I have lost some ships due to crashes and not been able to get them back through petitions and that was anoying, be happy you have yourse back.

A month? Thats really bad service, we have a couple of people waiting for answers in the corp, worst part isnt the ship, but the fittings that were destroyed. The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori. - Wilfred Owen |

You need to submit a seperate re-imbursment petition for each piece of equipment that was destroyed with your ship (is on the killmail).

If you have a battleship and you cannot afford another one you should not fly it. That's the number one rule of EVE Online. Never ever fly what you can't replace.
The alternative is to play in a ship you can afford to lose, until you've earned enough ISK to afford losing a larger ship.
If you fly a ship you can't do without, you should be willing to accept the loss of it since it's your choice to put it at risk.
As the OP said, a reimbursement petition is just the same as spending Insurance payment on a new ship, so why do so many people waste so much time whining about and putting in petitions when they could have replaced their ship and gotten on with their lives so much quicker had they just followed the number one rule of EVE. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | Visual Building Guide (Both work in game too!) |

I don't agree with the OP in hitting out at CCP for doing what he asked them to do.
Originally by: Kylania If you fly a ship you can't do without, you should be willing to accept the loss of it since it's your choice to put it at risk.
Putting it at risk is dependant on the situation. If you can always ace a mission with a particular ship, you are not really putting it at risk. Losing it to a bug or a CTD is an entirely different matter and should not be considered part of the accepted risks which is why CCP replaced the OP's ship.

yup.
weirda been waiting almost 1 month for a Muninn loss due to bug. After 3 week actually replied to the petition because wasn't sure if it worked (someone had made post that they got something that said 'respond in 48 hour or this will be closed' - but that they didn't get that message until they opened their petition window, i.e. no blinky, so of course it was after 48 hour), prolly bump Weirda back to the end of the line...
there have been major problem in the past where it seem like half the eve population lost their ship due to a bug after a patch, and have never seen it take this long.
the priority of the Reimbursment queue must have been lowered significantly. __ Weirda Join QOTSA Now |
