edit: well there goes my idea
In game browser windows display the title of the webpage when minimized like that, so he's likely at a website.
edit: it might also just be cargo conatiners named that, but I have no idea what the point would be. ____ http://eve-tribune.com/ - A weekly fan-run magazine. |

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 28/06/2006 16:48:18 Whatever it is it's integrated into the eve client. So unless its a hitherto unknown feature it must be an adapted client and thus an exploit.
Rather worrying how things like this must be found due to the stupdity of the user tho, and not because of built-in client protection...

as for that, apparently it is relatively simple to build things into the eve client if you know what you are doing (which I don't) thanks to code injection, either through the uncompiled python or through DLLs.
I'd show you the mining macro promo video if posting it wouldn't get me banned

The worst part being that the default GM setting is that outside evidence is not accepted. As in: he'll get away with it even now.
Client modifications seem to come into fashion seeing how the last few months i've seen a few public examples where I never saw any before. If there's one thing that'd get me ****ed it would be Eve turning into a bot/script-fest tbh.

Looking at the top left corner you can see the player's name as well as in the guest tab, so most likely him, also check him out ingame bio says selling bookmarks and he has a bookmark copy script, coincidence?

I have a couple of eggs in my caches all over too.
Scripting in EVE isn't hard to implement, but it is considered cheating. I know that I'd not used a changed client for the next years if I was that player - not one of the clients linked to me and my CC. Never tested it, but it might circumvent client display lag ... --*=*=*--

Exactly, I dont want this game to turn into something where whenever somebody beats you, its hacks or scripts that people blame instead of their setup or skill. CounterStrike is like that and its what turns me off most about it.

No coincidence.
He's a cheater, and he's using client modifications to cheat. Ban 'em. . And make detector tools for these modifications and ban everyone using them. Don't ban anyone until you get a list of them all, and then BOOM all gone.

Add him to the list of goonfleet nubs who modify the client in line for a banning, too bad it'll never happen.

This macro **** is really starting to put me off from playing EVE. With hints given from the screen shot it's easy to google (for-pay) web forums that are discussing the effectiveness EVE exploits and macros. I just can't see the point in playing in an environment full of cheaters.
While I'm shure CCP is working on the problem in some way, the deep silence that covers the topic is gritting my nerves.

I think it'd be awesome if bot-makers have 'sleeper' code in their programs, or a backdoor, and they would end up selling out every last customer.
"Hey *MMO companies*, what is it worth to you to have every cheater on your game 'turn themselves in'?"
Then again, I've always been in the field of thinking that if you have to cheat to compete in a game, you're probably the type of person that God should've chlorinated from the Gene Pool.

This is pretty damn sad. PVP Script?
To be honest I understand the reason why someone would get a Bookmark Copying Script, but then again, if you want to keep your account secure, any script is a potential security risk.
Anyway, I will stick to "point and Click and Wait" when I copy my BM's.
