Can anyone explain complexes to me? I have only run agent missions so far but want to try out complexes. How do I find them?
I have searched the forums but haven't found much that really helps.

There the EVE equivalent of a small "dungeon", non-instanced. You can find complexes either through pirate Logs that you find, or by color coding stars in the galaxy map by "DED Level" which will show where the various complexes are. They have a #/10 rating; the higher #, the tougher the complex!

They tend to be alot like longer missions, but often you end up having to wait for a key to the gate to spawn or the oversear to return and drop off his belongings in a floting red can that seems empty.
Just rember that some of them are kinda tricky. The 1/10 minmatar bio farm loses you Mimatar standing and you may be in for a suprise if you leave the system after a serpentis complex with drugs in your hold.
I've also never lost a ship on a mission but 3+ and counting in complexes.

that list is really great, but when i fly to the system where i want to attempt a complex, how do i find it when i get there? let's pretend i only have basic scanners... no probes. are there bookmarks for these complexes available?

The entry point will show up on your overview, just rightclick and warp to it.

Inverted arrow in your overview. Called a beacon I think. Right mouse click to read info. Right mouse click to warp to.
Other players may already be inside the complex. In low sec complex they may pop you. Best way is to take friends in a gang for the more difficult plexes.
I think there are secret or hidden plexes but not sure how you find them. Use scan probes maybe. |
