After having some luck and gettin my greasy hands on a shiny new machariel i fear to much to use it in pvp and will therefore be putting it up for a lottery due to the fact i've never had anything worth putting in a lottery before.
There shall be 100 tickets and shall be put on sale for 5 million isk per ticket.
Each Participant is allowed to buy a maximum of 5 tickets and the lottery requires 40 ticket sales to take effect.
I will be drawing numbers out of a hat to determine the winning number, ISK should be sent in the appropriate amount to "MT Lotto" and a post should be made here clearly stating the numbers you would like to claim in the lotto.
All ISK should be sent to "MT Lotto" any isk sent to Magic Trev directly will betreated as a donation!

I got ripped off, I know neither of the numbers I chose were winners however I paid for both numbers 42 and 61, I had number 42 before anyone and had to rechoose my other number, however someone AFTER me was sold the #42 ticket.

lol if you look a lot of my friends entered, infact had they not entered when i first announced it i believe the lack of initial tickets being sold would have detered others from buying, infact i would say i know maybe a quater of the ticket holders, so the fact that one of them won the mach really dosent mean anything 
anyway everyone can look forward to the next lottery which i will be holding as soon as i can get hold of a new ship which will hopefully be soonÖ (as soon as i decide what ship to buy and auction)

To be honest I did notice that a lot of the tickets were bought by people who you would have known, and as you say their interest in the lottery undoubtably encouraged the rest of the people to participate.
My problem is with the method used for the draw. Numbers out of a hat? Yeah, thats not open for abuse at all :P
So I tried to think of a way you could have a draw for a 100 numbers (rather than the 49 used as standard) using the national lottery draw, as that is totaly open for others to scrutinise. Leaving your piratical but otherwise unblemished reputation intact.
So, I thought of the follwoing.
Take the second digit of the first two numbers drawn. so if the first two numbers are 14 & 34 then then winning ticket is 44. Simple :) 8 & 3 would be 08 & 03, which would be 83. Any double 0 result of course = 100.
Just an idea for nexttime which might help increase ticket sales because impartiality in the result is guaranteed.
Also(god I have too much time on my hands today...) if less than 100 tickets are sold and the first number genrated is a blnk slot, then you use the 2nd & 3rd numbers, if still blank then 3rd & 4th numbers and so on. With the bonus ball too this will give you six chances to get a number that has been bought.
And if that fails you could either wait until the next draw or use one of the other draws that take place... your choice, just set it out in the "rules" at the start of the lottery so everyone knows what is going on.
I'll shut up now.
