The Loki is the one i have, but i cant get it to have both tank and effective dps, only one or the other. If not the Loki, what T3 is best suited for pvp solo and why? Vanguards of justice and of freedom, the Gallente Federation shelters all who seek hope where it is difficult to find. |

For what it's worth, I have the same issue with the Loki. I don't fly it much because I haven't worked out a very good fit that isn't either a paper tanked brawler or a brick that can't kill anything.
A lot of folks seem to do well with solo PVE fits built around the Proteus. |

No idea, mainly because there are way cheaper ways to PvP that mean I can buy more ships for the same ISK. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

So T3's are not worth as much as the cost? Vanguards of justice and of freedom, the Gallente Federation shelters all who seek hope where it is difficult to find. |

T3's are amazing ships that don't really lend themselves to solo PVP. Either a 100mn Tengu or Legion is likely to be your best bet if you are really keen to do it - neither of them are easy to fly or very forgiving if you make a mistake, and plenty of ships can do a very similar thing for less than half the price.
There are a some effective solo T3 fleets floating around that people have come up with over the years, however I am going to play my douche card and suggest that if you need help fitting a T3 for solo pvp, you shouldn't be trying to solo in one. |

I do agree.
OP, start with smaller stuff to learn how to Solo PvP and also in the kean time learn what your fit needs to be. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Flying alone with a T3. You need to know what your doing with perfect skills otherwise you are just an expensive Killmail.
On that note I found the HAM Legion be a brilliant boat. "Kane is the End Boss of Highsec." -Psychotic Monk |

Cannibal Kane was here. Any other opinion is irrelevant. Can someone lock this thread now? I sing for nobody |

On a totally unrelated note:
I vote Proteus. Though it's hard to argue with Kane's suggestion for a HAM legion, I'd say that the Prot is pretty high up there as well, for multiple reasons. Can't believe nobody mentioned it yet. I sing for nobody |

I don't really know enough about this to chirp in, but I keep seeing lone Proteuses in lowsec. They do seem quite popular. |

The Proteus is without a doubt a bad mother ****** in PVP. However as I am not nearly as much of an authority on the subject as Kane or most others are, I cannot say whether the HAM Legion outperforms it. I suspect that while the Legion has more viable utility configurations, the Proteus probably has more viable DPS configurations, and maybe more potential dps or tank compared to a HAM Legion flown with the same skills. It would be good to hear from other dudes with more than 4 million skill points like myself, though. I sing for nobody |

Tengu is your best bet for T3 solo PvP. I don't recommend T3 solo PvP unless you are in deep null and are avoiding bubbles.
Look into T2 cruisers or faction cruisers if you want to work solo PvP. I highly recommend the Gila if you have the isk. I'm guessing you do if you want to use T3 for solo PvP. |

Confirming Kane is probably the best solo Strategic Cruiser PVP pilot in the game, I'd give his advice serious consideration.
However, I much prefer the Gila or Ishtar if you can use them well. More forgiving of mistakes as you don't lose four days of skill training on top of the ship loss. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

Important question - Solo PVP where? Lowsec, highsec, null or WH?
Cloaky or non-cloaky?
Dual-boxing or literally solo?
I've had success with cloaky Tengu, Proty and even Loki. Have only just trained myself into Legion so can't really comment on it although I'm sure you'd find it just as successful. You won't be able to beat the Proty for pure tank and DPS, although she's a slow and heavy brick of a thing.

Since the release of the MJD I have found myself using the Protues more.
However when I find myself outnumbered I prefer the HAM Legion. Selectable and directed damage type and a lot of buffer.
So I will say the two best T3's are the Protues and the HAM Legion. Overall I prefer the HAM Legion since it does give me adaptability with damage projection.
The Protues fit I use is the 1000dps monster with the extended scram point. The HAM Legion does a about 650dps, but with a monster buffer. "Kane is the End Boss of Highsec." -Psychotic Monk |

Mr. Kane's word of caution is good advice, but for the job, I was also going to recommend the proteus. :)

Though he didn't ask for advice on a cloaky T3, I would like to add that while Kane swears on the HAM Legion for non-cloaky solo work, the cloaky Legion is flat out terrible in any dps configuration. Taking that into consideration along with Kane's advice, i'd say that your best option for a cloaky dps T3 would be the Prot, especially with its range bonus to scram. I sing for nobody |

T3s are awesome for WHs where there are mass limits. Outside that, well they are just another cruiser that is quite a bit better than t1. They are not magic and can be pretty expensive. Even my cheaper one is 700M worth. Compared to a HAC, that is not very cheap.
Loki's are fine but like a lot of minmitar ships, tend to be on the low DPS side. But webs can help apply damage. They can effectively shield or amour tank and like all t3s tend to have quite a small signature for what they can do. With cloaky subsystem and interdiction nullification they are not a bad hunter killer as well. But i pretty much have mine as support ship (more like a tanky Rapier) or frig killer (webs webs webs). Loki's are not a solo favorite.
But just about all ships are very hard to make work for solo. You just keep running into more ships than you can tank, or ship types that are just a good counter to what you have. Of course i am talking about true solo. No links, No alts, just one account. |

250m ISK, plus 200k skillpoints.
