I heard a pretty bad move the other day and it got me wondering. In your guys experience, what are the worst griefing moves you've heard of in EVE? ------------------------------------ Shadrin Apocalypse Enterprises

Griefing in eve hardly exists imho. It's just a word that people use when they get really upset coz someone blew them up a few times

Yeah , no greifing goes on in EvE. New PLayers THINK its greifing, but after a couple times of dying they realise its just gameplay.

For the most part sure, however, its those that go the extra mile to make it griefing.
Last summer I remember reading about this guy who was in a corp as a productive member until he was able to get hangar/wallet access, cleaned that mother out and went running. Sure it's within the rules of the game, but DAMN. That's cold. ------------------------------------ Shadrin Apocalypse Enterprises

The way I look at it, if you can do it within the game its exceptable, if people don't wanna get killed or have things stolen they should play with lego
(Damn I loved lego)

That happens every day.
True griefing has been pretty much nerfed out of existance. I'd have to say the high space gankers come in kinda close.
Anyone try remote repping mission NPC's, if I recall you used to be able to do it, then it got nerfed. Who knows if it works again.

true griefing is going into a training complex with other noobs, killing all the pirate keyholders, and then killing the noob when he steals the key. This requires the use of a noob ship as well, so it's technically not that big of an advantage...(unless you have 2 150mm railguns, a 20k scram, and a micro auxiliary power core)
or
Similarly, killing all the npc's outside of the training complexes in a system like Kisogo with only one station and stealing all the other cans in the hopes that you stumble across a flashing noob or a noob dumb enough to engage.
me and my buddy did this one day and killed at least 50 rookie ships. It was easy, mildly entertaining, and entirely avoidable on their part.
I know you probably think i'm a despicable and wicked person at this point, but i gave most people at least 50k and told them to buy a condor, 2 rocket launchers and a 125mm railgun. In some cases i even gave people upwards of 500k-600k. Also, i think i managed to recruit some promising future pirates.
i guess i'm not that Ebil.

That's not even slightly griefing. It's making a living from other ppls work as a lot players do in EVE.
But the same player would place some giant secures 150km form the station and drop all the stuff he has stolen into them. Makeing a scene in local and slowly blowing those cans up. That would be griefing.

I've podded about six players below the age of 3 months today, several a few days old.
I also have a creative way of pod ransoming.
"Will you pay me the 5 mill?" "no, never! blow me up!"
"no."
"...what do you mean no, are you letting me go?"
"no."
"...so blow me up you idiot!"
"no, you didnt pay, when you pay i'll blow you up and let you return to the game, until then i'm just gonna sit here scrambling your rear end, after all i'm a no life lamer who spends all his time ingame"
A great deal of them, do pay.
Think, you'll get paid to blow peoples pods up, is that the ultimate solution?

Edited by: Kresh Vladir on 04/07/2006 21:26:53 thats what i do when i dont feel like ******* my sec status up
kill their ships and hold their pods till they pay
about 90% just log after 5mins and u gotta kill them anyways
its also fun holding war targets down w/ a recon cloaked next to you and when support comes in to say them kill them both :)

I've done this to people who were obscene when being ransomed when local is empty. I've had people smacktalking me for ages about how I'm a **** for doing it. One guy lasted about 15mins before I informed him of the self destruct function on his pod. As soon as I got the self-desrtuct message, I podded him
