I was settting up a tank on a ferox with hardeners (dont have the money to buy T2 invul.) and i realized with passive amplifiers and lvl 5 sheild comp skills you could make them better then the active hardeners. so then i thought about my domi setup, and wondered if i had all armor comp skills at lvl 5 and some all around t2 nanos that give a small boost to everything... wouldn't that be 40%resist bonus for each of the nanos? i havent ever tried training these skills so if anyone could tell me something im missing that would be fine

Well, its not all that bad, although the comp skills need a bit of a boost.
I'm an armor tanker, and I was thinking the same thing until I looked at faction passive modules. With the right modules, and the comp skill up to 4, the resistances provided were about equivalent to T2 hardeners.
So, for a BS, not much difference since hardeners don't relatively use a lot of cap. But anything else with less cap, particularily cruisers, frigates, and transport ships, those skills rock.
I assume the same would be true for the shield skills.

I could be wrong but for shields and ships such as AF's where capacitor is key to surviving, wouldn't they be good?
T2 Passive 37.5 x 1.2 (lvl 4) = 45 resist with no cap useage and lower fitting requirements.
Even with a low faction one such as DG version at 40%, thats still 48% no cap useage.
Looks tasty to me as AF's/Intys have good resists anyway.

Yes, and the single-resistance ones are generally found on interceptors and assault frigs.
Just so you know, they don't apply to the resistances on damage controls.

The skills multiply the resistance bonus of the moduale, they don't add to it. However multiresistance mods are a great choice for rats that do more than 2 damage types.

heh, i wonder how much officers nanos would sell for... i guess im going to keep on dreaming
