i start eve,put my password in, select char,
BANG nothing on the screen for about 3-6 min,
then i see the station but i cant see my ship or any menu, i've checkt all video settnings and im getting 100 fps in some game so it isnt the video thingy, help

It's the infamous station stuck bug
Log out, clear your cache directory (not prefs.ini. And then you should be ok.
To make sure we won't be left with wasted space in our industrials hey should make their cargospaces devideable by the biggest item there is.....

if that doesnt work, file an ingame stuck report, by pressing escape in game and then clicking pertition

I have the same thing, and i used to be boed after a few secs on a black screen, tried switching from window to full screen fixes it for me, but after a while i realised it was more of a damn long loading time.
I let the black screen, i hear the station ambiant. just wait the station environment takes a bit to come but it comes.
