Theoretically, yes, they can be destroyed but I believe it wasn't a practical solution before and I doubt it is now...

Yes, but we never tested it after the last patch.
Firing range was 60km. someone told me it is 65 km now. so you need a Battleship with longrange weapons or the cheapest version a cruiser with torpedos.
the problem is the respawning time. i heard something about 3 or 5 minutes.

apocalypse with as many big long-range guns as you can cram on it, couple sensor boosters, couple tracking computers to boost ur optimal range. sit outside sentry gun range (i think its 80km right now) and have some fun.

So its possible to kill them if youre out of range. But in the time taken to kill them, any low sec players in range would get shot at ? right ?

Ain't it tho? Wonder if people will bother to figure out the counter or just whine about it. In terms of counters, it's rediculously easy to do (figured out a good one in less than 30s).
