Hi all, I have a minor issue regarding the latest driver update to my nvidia card on my laptop.
Every time I switch on it insists I update to 337.88, but when I do it means if I try Eve with direct X 11 I get that horrible flickering epileptic effect screen so have to roll back.
Now, it is not the end of the world, but the fact the blumming driver update keeps popping up if I don't do it is annoying.
So, is there a workaround to get 337.88 and DX11 to be friends, or can I stop these pop ups reminding me to update?
It's a HP Envy 17 laptop with a 740m gfx card if that helps. |

So absolutely no reply, ideas or even views.
I posted in here instead of GD because I thought perhaps I might be doing the right thing posting in the correct forum (plus I didn't want to be told off by Doc Fury lol), but this forum section is a ghost town.
So, er, bump. Anyone? |

Been noticing a similar effect on my end as well, an object flickering bug. On occasion, one or more items (planet, gate, visual effect, etc. seems random) will briefly disappear and then reappear. Not sure if it's the same thing, as it sounds worse on your end, but it didn't happen till I updated my driver to 337.88.

If it hasn't been tried yet, I would say the best thing to do would be to try the previous driver and see if that works. There is a program you can get from the Nvidia forums that will fully remove your driver and allow you to more correctly and safely use an older driver...just can't remember what it was, "something" Driver Remover or some such. |

swap from fixed window mode back to full and back again to fixed should work helps to stop flicker completely for me.

I encounter issues with the latest AMD 14.7 RC drivers. My screen has been shrunk even on fullscreen. the only way to get "full" screen is using Fixed Windowed. Didn't have this issue with the 14.6 RC beta driver :(

Made a gif of the screen flicker issue I'm having on my new (as in less than a week old) MSI GE70 Apache Pro-012 that comes with a NVIDIA Geforce GTX860M w/ 2GB GDDR5 VRAM. EVE was working fine on both full screen and windowed mode for about 3 days then suddenly started doing this crap everywhere.
Trying the solutions people on this thread and this other thread suggested now, but figured I'd share the gif for a visual explanation.
Update: Switching from windowed to fixed windowed mode worked, then again to full screen. No problems now. |
