Do you earn any bonuses from taking a ship skill like from level 3 ro level 4? I am thinking of getting my battleship skill up to level 4, and I wanted to know if you earn anything on leveling that skill directly? Not just as a base for learning other skills etc.

The ship becomes better in your hands in most cases as you level it up. Temp damage increases, Phoon ROF increases. if you check the bonus for each ship you will see how it will get better by each jump in level. -----------------------------------------------

Read the description of the ship you're flying. All of them get a bonus per level of the relevant skill required to fly them. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

You all misunderstand.
Yes. I know all this. What I mean is, when already piloting a BS, do you have anything more to gain, by increasing that skill with another level.
From the skillbook, It says in general that this skill learns you to pilot the Battleship. I know that flying the ship needs to be at a certain level. like level 2 i think for the megatron and level 1 for the dominix. But when u fly it (not just have the skill) do you have anything more to gain by levelling up? Like to level 3 or 4 or even 5? I can after all fly the dam ship at level 2...
And yes, I know the Megathron gives like 5% bonuses to large hybrid guns

Yes, you do. I refer you to my above post that suggests you read the description of the SHIP you're flying, for example if you're flying a Megathron, read the DESCRIPTION of the Megathron and you'll see what you get per level of Gallente Battleship skill.

People didnt explain it very well.
Take a megathron and look at its bonuses.
For every level you train you get a 7.5% tracking bonus and a 5% dmg bonus.
So increasing your bs skill from 3 to 4 will give you more dmg and better tracking in a megathron.

I think alot of people are forgetting that the system is indeed quite confusing when you're a newbie.
It says on the ship description what a skill does...

Its all about reading properly, i remember when i first started i misread the skill changing blurb and thought it said 'any skill points trained WILL be lost if you change skill' reading properly ftw.

Well on the skill wouldn't exactly work since it depends on the ship.....
And nobody said it's easy to grasp... but by the time you're in a battleship...
