I got given a mission by a level 2 agent tht involved deporting some homeless people. When I finished the mission some of them stayed with me.
I happened across a post asking about how to get homeless, and Im wondering why would anyone want them? What do they do? So far all I can see is that I can sell them.

Nice thing to collect. Ive got homeless, Janitors, Tourists, Marines and offcourse Exotic dancers.

Their practical use is that they're needed for missions, and agents might sometimes request them in offers. Minmatar have a few missions where if you give agents Slaves they'll feed and cloth them, and a few might decide to stay with you, meaning that you get freed-slaves that apear in your hold. Just fun
The fun side is as stated, they're just silly and fun for RP. I collect food and drink, and have a single unit of livestock that travels around in my hold wherever I go. I call it my pet chicken, it's name is Plucky :P

thats cute :)
all my ships have a janitor, exotic dancer, and a few marines sitting in the cargo hold :) I like to keep my ship clean, safe, and the crew entertained....

Thank goodness for silliness.
Thankyou that clears it up, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything. I'd feel too guilty if I sold them as well!

I would keep them if I were you, some mission players pay a lot for them sometimes..

If i go mining in high traffic area i send out decoy cans (named 14.12 etc.) with homeles people in them.

I had the same problem. I had a bunch and they weren't selling for any good amount of isk.
This made me do what any sensible Caldari capsuleer would do: I tried to reprocess them.
Well, that didn't work.
