My Tengu fit with all level 5 skills has:
624 dps shooting kinetic, or 499 dps shooting EM
remember not with my skills which are a bit lower but in EFT with all at 5.
Now, from what I read here in different thread:
"Skomener Effotber, who requires 500 DPS pure EM just to even out with his armor tank"
I tried, but I shot him in vain with Scourges Furies with my skills and 5% implants and all HML2. But now cold thinking I see that even if I would shoot Mjolnirs Furry with all skills trained to 5, I would only get 499 dps which is still under 500 dps to break its armor tank...
So is there a chance to do it in a Tengu and if not, what best low-level skill cheap ship I should train my alt for to help me there?

You were probably quoting me.
Implants. Get some implants. Mjolnir missiles are a better bet. A Legion would be even better but obviously that's a bit of a train. An Oracle would be shorter and would have the damage output if you could hold out tank-wise. |

Well I DO have 5% implants HM-705, RL-1005 and GP-805.
Not trained for Legion or Oracle and invested quite a lot in this Tengu. Last night I called a corp mate to help me kill overseer after 20 mins of shooting anything at it with a 4 drone low-skill alt with 90 dps trying to help at no avail.
I will try train alt for a high DPS catalyst, no other idea so far. He could output 155 dps now with very low-range... Dunno if this will help, so looking for something else...
PS: I think yes, I was quoting you... |

It would help but damage type matters an awful lot here.
Have you tried refitting to HAMs? Mjolnir Rage oughht to put enough hurt on to get the job done. I don't usually like HAMs for exploration but in this case your options are definitely limited. And for thhe record, it's dynamics like this that made me switch over to a Legiion for Sansha/BR work after the great HM tooth kick of 2012. |

I dont have T2 HAMs and using meta 4 does not bring too much of a difference for me. I looked to Legion but also too far away for this moment for me. So I am looking to alternatives...

You should still be able to get over 500 using meta 4 or faction HAMs. |

If you have bs trained for caldari and drone skills consider Rattlesnake with cruise missles and senturies |

I don't know how much more you can do. My old BR Tengu HM setup pushed 518 with Mjolnir Fury. The same configuration would put out 543 with CN Mjolnir HAMs from meta 4 launchers. A proper HAM configuration would push over 700 with Rage but the range would drop under 60km even with javs.
Your real issue at the end of the day is Skomener Effotber's insane (85%) kinetic and thermal resists. He's twice as vulnerable to EM damage and pushing that from a Tengu is a challenge these days. If you're stuck pure Caldari then your best bet is probably to train up HAMs as quickly as possible. If you don't mind a bit of cross training, a Gila with Vespa IIs would do even better (on paper at least).
If you're comfortable fielding a BS in low any Raven variant could do the EM damage you need but I find that option unattractive for lots of reasons. If you're looking for an alt fit you're probably better off in a Coercer (or even a Thrasher) than a Catalyst. An Algos might work now that Amarr drones are half decent. |

I did it in a tengu.
But it took me about 100 rounds to do it, and a neat little trick to get your DPS up:
Move away about 70 km from the overseer. Then approach him with your afterburner on, and fire your missiles (use the EM ones). Because you approach him, your missiles salvos are less far apart meaning you will have about 15% more dps.
And hope you have broken his tank when you catch up with him. *Snip* Removed trolling part of the post. ISD Ezwal.*Snip* *Snip*-áPlease refrain from personal attacks. ISD Ezwal.*Snip* *Snip*-áRemoved part of the post for not having enough pssssshhhhhh. ISD Ezwal.-á*Snip* |

Funny thing is that alt can fly an oracle and a 668 DPS Gila is in my hangar but I was afraid to use it there because of its tank. Also I have a T1 cruise missiles fit Raven which I think could do the job. So I have many things to try...

Good idea. I will try it for sure with next opportunity. I thought how could I do a similar thing but did not worked and never thought about gunning towards him while launching salvos. Sounds like it can be done.
I was pretty much desperated yesterday. I ran to Jita and spent 450 mils in new 5% implants after shooting him for 15 mins and gave alt a drone damage Procurer fit to try to help with DPS only to find out Procurer's are not allowed in.
But it was worth in the end. 1.3 bils total reward. Then the next one was only the overseer personal effects but done with a corp mate in 20 mins.
