I was just wondering what skills resources and just what and how do I need to go about to build my own ship? I asked on in-game chat, but no one seemed to be able to help.
How do I go about building my own ship if I can't find it to buy it?

You need to go into the market and purchase individual modules that you are trained enough to fit onto your ship. Then you go into the station with the module in question and click fitting. From there you equip your Hi Medium and Low slot modules, providing you have the CPU and Powergrid to fit them.
Check the Ships & Modules section of the forums for build advice, and look into the skills section if you want to see good insight on various skills that will help you along your path.

I've only been playing 4 days but I'm pretty sure its done using minerals people mine and blueprints. You'll need to be able to read (??) the blueprint for the ship you're wanting to build. Then you'll have to get the right items to manufacture it. As for skills I've not got an idea at a guess something to do with manufacturing and using blueprints.

To build a ship, you need a blueprint of the ship (either an Original or a Copy), all the materials listed, a free manufacturing slot and the industry skill.
Bear in mind that you'll need money to pay for the manufacturing slot rental time.
