Alternate thread title: Surely You're Awoxing
This is a long post. Deal with it.
This is the story of how 2 guys and their alts stole or destroyed everything a 60 man c6 wormhole corp owned inside their own hole, then moonwalked out with almost everything they stole. This never should have been possible, and but for having director level roles and the apathy and fear of PvP of the corp in question, it would have been stopped dead before it got started. This is not a failure of POS or Corp settings, this is a failure of corp security. That this was possible at all is not the fault of poor coding on CCP's part, but on the poor sod who gave me those roles.
Before I get started, just let me say that in spite of what I am about to say, Lycosa has some really great members. The three newest guys are all innocent of what I'm about to say, they took part in PvP and weren't around for most of the build-up. We only shot at them because they might ahve probes, and until the conversation on comms later, we had intended to let them join us. Shout out to Brownian Motion for being the only Lycosa (or SYJ for that matter) member who managed to do anything other than cost us ammunition in this betrayal. Cannon is awesome, Amra and Tyth are also really friendly, genuine people in spite of their absence. Nuvia deserves a shout-out for being a great guy too, as well as the only person who managed to remain calm when we got on comms afterwards. To the CEO that I'm going to talk about below, you're not a bad person, you're just way too good at passing blame and are a bad choice for CEO. Of the people remaining, I'd be tempted to give it to Nox, let him BE in charge, instead of simply trying to act like he is all the time.
Anyway, on with the back story.
In 2012, I was in Lycosa Syndicate for a 2.5 month period, where I went from complete wormhole n00b to FCing fleets. I moved out of the SYJ hole known as Bastion with a friend and we moved into J105822, a hole famously mentioned in one of Rooks and Kings' videos as the home of Guillotine Therapy. I think we moved in about 2 weeks after they left. There we learned how to make stupid amouts of ISK with a skeleton escalation fleet (2 carriers, 2 dreads, 1 loki, 1 booster), but it got boring and we logged in less and less. My friend took a break from EVE after we moved out of the hole and I derped around low sec on my own. I eventually ran out of ISK and decided to move back into the wormhole to solo c5 sites. I had been doing this for about 3 days when my static (which I had closed 3 hours previously, but apparently someone had opened) sent me a gift. Lycosa Syndicate showed up in local, called me bad (which is true) and offered to let me rejoin. I agreed because less money that I don't really need in exchange for someone to bullshit with on comms is a good trade. I joined and quickly became the guy who ran their fleets.
Lycosa uses a space communism method of sharing the loot from their site fleets. Each person present gets 1 share for each site that is ran. All sites are pooled and then the ISK is split per share. So the guy in a T2 fit target painting Legion gets the same pay as the guy multi-boxing first carrier, tagging, providing boosts and running 2 dreadnaughts. This would later become a sore point and ultimately provide part of the reason for this Awox/eviction. A month later, my friend came back to EVE and joined Lycosa again. We had more than half the capital fleet, as well as the ability to escalate by ourselves. We still provided fleets for Lycosa members, both site fleets and also PvP fleets (that were largely ignored). Our preffered method of escalating differed from the corp's chosen method and this caused some friction. We were also unhappy with doing all the work and still getting paid the same as the new guy with his rubbish T2 fit painting Legion that added nothing to the fleet. When I took a week off EVE to study for exams, we noticed that without me organising fleets, they simply didn't happen. In a c6 hole with 10-14 sites every single night I was gone, the corporation ran sites twice for a total of 5 sites out of more than 70 that could have been done. Noting that the only reason anything at all happened was because my fleets were up, I decided I was going to take a bigger share of the loot. I decreed that my site fleets would take no more than 2 Lokis, no legions and 6 dreadnaughts. New member's to the corp would be allowed to bring Legions/Lokis for their first month. My bigger share of the loot consisted of 1 extra share (so if we ran 6 sites with 4 people, I would have 7 shares out of 25 (7+6+6+6) or 28% of the loot) in fleets that I organised. This made several people angry. If I had known then what I do now, I would have taken double shares instead of one extra. It seems like no one cared about the amount extra, only that it was more than they got, if people were going to be mad anyways, why not take a more fitting portion?
The other major issue that lead to the burning of J103400 was corp activity and responses to same. The corp as a whole was a farming corp that would log in after I had set up everything, run sites with me in the evening, and then disappear into the ether before the salvage was even done. PvP roams would consist of me and my friend and no one else. Suggestions to spend a week in low sec with the Alliance that Lycosa was a member of in name only were met with crickets chirping. If we found PvP in the static, we could maybe russle up some support if people were online, but they would be slow (10 minutes on some occasions) to form up and often not on comms. |

The CEO (not the guy who actually had the title, long story) would quite often ship spin in the POS while complaining to me that no one organised anything, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he could organise things himself quite easily. On several occasions, he would criticise my actions when he thought I was offline, and then praise those same actions to my face. He appeared to be more interested in having people think of him as the CEO than of actually doing anything that a CEO might be expected to do. As far as I'm concerned, I was running Lycosa from about a week after I joined. Fortunately (for me) I had been given director level access to the corp, this would come in handy later.
This was a farming corp that only did any farming if it had its hand held by a select few who did all the work. When anyone rolled into us, people would warp back to the POS and log out. PvP showing up seemed to be a signal that the night was over. After a few weeks my friend and I were treated as outsiders, as a second corp that Lycosa members were friendly towards in order to get their easy ISK injections. As soon as they had enough people online to run sites without us, suddenly our welcome got a lot cooler. Once we accepted that we weren't part of Lycosa and were actually our own corp, we looked around and saw that there was another corp living in our wormhole, and they had foolishly given us the big red button to shut them down.
Disfunctional and absent leadership, members who only log on for sites, a complete fear of anything at all PvP related, backbiting and a resentment of a measely extra percentage of the loot in exchange for doing all the work. These were the seeds of Lycosa's destruction, but the thing that sealed their fate was giving me roles. Without those roles, there is no way two guys and their alts could bring a 60 man corporation to their knees.
Incidently, where did all the ISK go? You're living in a c6, making up to a billion ISK a night each in my fleets and I'm getting mails from people begging me to give them ISK. I know you didn't put that ISK into your ships, I've seen their fits and they are generally pretty shameful. Also, until I went through those fits, I didn't know that neut-Lokis were a thing.
The story of this event begins 2 weeks before anything overt happened when we decided we weren't just going to leave. We were going to leave with a bang. We bought alts in and anchored a tower for our alt-corp (pro-tip: don't let anyone set up a tower you can't turn off) supposedly to react gas. This tower was set up as a death star with a single SMA and CHA and no reactors. This should have tipped people off, but apparently no one gave it a second thought. We accidentally let it run out of fuel a day or so before our designated Op start time, and so spent valuable time onlining it the night before. I stock-piled the site loot from all our sites for 3 days before we did anything. I wanted to stockpile it for longer, but since I had never held loot for more than 12 hours before doing payouts, I thought that even 3 days would make people suspiscious. Turns out the only people who even thought about it simply put it down to burn out.
We had said it a few times to each other before hand, but the motto of this op was to become "We don't want it, we just don't want you to have it."
We had a rough idea of what we were going to do. We had decided that we would first take all the capitals we could, then we would use our new carriers to move ships from the SMAs. While this was going on, we would use Orcas to empty the CHAs of anything worth taking. Once we had taken everything we wanted, we would offline and unanchor all the POS modules, then offline and un anchor the towers. While this was happening, we would use our dreadnaughts to destroy any storage that we could find, including SMAs, CHAs and enormous freight containers. We would then scoop and re-anchor the towers with out alt-corp and set them up as bug-zappers. Then we would start hauling our ill-gotten gains out of the hole, while we waited for connections to get the caps out. We were pretty sure we weren't getting any capitals out of the hole, but it was worth trying. We would later try (unsuccessfully) to sell the capital hulls back to Lycosa for 75% of hull price, with rigs still attatched.
Unfortunately, we were interupted 3 hours into things. Just before we finished getting all the valuable stuff out of the towers and as we were talking about offlining the first tower. Nuvia logged in, noticed his ships were all gone and that there were wrecks in the members' POS. The gig was up, pings went out and we decided to start tearing things down. The first thing I did was to pull the stront from all the towers and then offline them. If I could do it over, I would have pulled the fuel as well before offlining. As it turned out, it would have made no difference this time. No one came to defend the towers and I'm fairly sure that no one logged on between those tower re-onlining and us blapping them with our dreads. once things were more under control, I convo'd SYJ leadership and tried to talk them out of coming to help. As it turns out, this was probably a mistake, but as they didn't show up anyways, probably nto a huge one. Incidentally, Pell offered to stand aside and let us burn one of his corporations down for the measely sum of 10 billion ISK. The offer was probably not real anyway, but we didn't pay him and SYJ sent only a token force of Euros anyway. |

It was a pretty boring day for us after that. We already had all the loot we were going to get, we just spammed d-scan for hours and killed anything we caught logging in while we frantically hauled things out. SYJ says we were 2 jumps away from death at one point, but we didn't hear a thing from the Alliance until the following day. We rolled a few holes, shot people as we pleased and generally maintained hole control through what appeared to be complete apathy from Lycosa. I know they were watching all this, but we never saw their scouts until the next day. By down time (18 hours after we started) we had stolen everything, and hauled everything out except some T2 ships and almost a freighter worth of POS fuel. We went to bed and SYJ and Lycosa had 9 hours with free run of the hole.
Incidentaly, I think I broke my d-scan button. I can honestly say that with a few short breaks, I spammed d-scan at least once a minute for 18 hours straight, usually every 5 seconds. This paid off however, as most of the initial tackles were made by my alts, while my friend was busy doing most of the hauling. Mad props to him for that by the way.
I logged back in at 6am Sydney local time (down time +9 hours) and poked around. Noticed that a POS name that had been a small yesterday was now a large and went to investigate. On it was 6 shield hardeners and a single naut battery. I remember telling my friend of my suspicions that there was a huge T3 blob logged out there, but that I wouldn't be surprised if Lycosa had missed their opportunity to do anything about us. Turns out I was half right. There was a fleet logged off there, but it wasn't huge. We went back to hauling.
At some point during the morning, AHARM rolled into us. We noticed the new sig, then the probes and decided that we would crash the hole. We had already decided that the capital hulls were most likely going to be self-destructed anyway, so the Orcas were actually more valuable to us at that point. Difference between SDing an Archon and it getting shot? Who shows up on the kill mail. We warp everything to the hole and as it all enters warp, the scout on the other side yells in comms about a fleet. Crap, we're dead. oh well, at least kill the hole. We can get pilots back in, but that hole needs to die. We jump both orcas out and I see 5 T3s and a Thanatos on the hole. I jump my orca home and sinmply warp off to the POS. As it turns out, my friend who was flying the other Orca and Archon, had simply warped the Archon off the hole without jumping, and had jumped the orca out and back. At this point his power went out. I saw the Archon warp off as my Orca was leaving and then screamed on comms what was going on, obviously with no response. We lost an orca, and the pod e-warped away to safety. After this, we went back to hauling, still spamming d-scan like a boss.
A short while later, we saw a scan alt's probes on scan and watched the hole. He found it and jumped through. We put a dictor and 2 T3s on it, and started launching cans to decloak him. After a minute or so, we decided to put 2 orcas through the hole so we could crash it if we needed to, and also to force him back through into our trap. As our orcas entered warp, the T3 fleet I had been worried about being logged off at the too-obviously fail POS logged on. We figured the orcas were dead and warped everything else off as the Devoter was landing. I would like to get the SYJ fleet's perspective on this, because in spite of their fleet, we simply jumped the orcas and warped them off to low sec. No tackle, no shots fired, just walked out like we weren't flying giant space cows in a field of hungry wolves. After this, the SYJ fleet simply logged off at the POS, mumbling something about 3am and a bag of dicks.
Nothing else notable happened after the SYJ fleet logged off, we hauled the remainder of the semi-valuable ships and POS fuel out, self destructed everything we weren't taking with us, unanchored the SMAs and CHA and then closed the hole behind our last Orca. We left a death star with a month's fuel, but it can't move, so Lycosa will probably be safe if they move back in. I want to point out that we actually self-destructed shuttles, in hind sight I have no idea why, but we certainly didn't want anything left behind. We don't want them, but we don't want you to ahve them. There was even a short discussion about unanchoring POS guns as well, just to deny the killmails... that quickly died when it became apparent that it would be more work.
SYJ killboard says ~20 billion in losses inflicted. ~33 billion in stolen ISK (14 Billion corp wallet, 19 billion stolen site loot), ~53billion in assets stolen.
Notable ships stolen: 1 Bhaalgorn, 1 Typhoon Fleet Issue, 1 orca, 44 Strategic Cruisers, 2 Revelations (SD), 2 Moros (SD), 1 Naglfar (SD), 3 Archons (SD), 1 Thanatos (SD). 200+ smaller ships that were either kept or self-destructed. We also managed to keep all of our own ships (exceptions: 1 Sabre, 1 Phoenix, 1 Naglfar, 1 Revelation, 1 Moros, 2 Archons, 1 Thanatos).
Conclusion: We stole about 93 billion in assets and ISK, destroyed about 20 billion worth of things we didn't steal, maintained complete hole control except for a nine hour period where we were offline for sleep and a one hour period where the SYJ "relief fleet" was camping our static. We got everything we wanted out (except the capital hulls, but we knew before we stole anything that we were most likely SDing those) and in exchange, SYJ killed a sabre and a pod worth 180 mil. Our biggest ISK lost was when I self destructed my carrier alt's pod instead of a ship. We also lost a (stolen) Orca to AHARM. |

(Times are given in AEST, Sydney local time) 0300 - Everything logged in, Op starts, corp wallet emptied. 0315 - All POSes set to not fire at anything, and corp access given. All CHAs and SMAs set to corp access. 0345 - We control all the capital assests except those logged off. We believe this to have been 4 dreadnaughts and 1 carrier unaccounted for. 0545 - We have stolen the majority of all corp assets. 3 of the 5 towers are completely empty, the 4th tower has had the expensive stuff taken and we are working on the last tower. Preparations underway to begin offlining towers. 0600 - GodIsINZ logs on. Notices wrecks at Members' POS. The game is up, pings go out. 0603 - GodIsINZ AWOXed in Chrysus POS. Shield turned off, Hictor bubble up. Pilot podded. 0605 - All towers offline, stront pulled. Begin destruction of SMAs, CHAs and all other modules that are normally inside the shields. T3s sat at each tower waiting for people logging in. Initial round of rage-loggers got away, response much faster than expected. 0750 - Dr Linlee logs in an orca at an offline POS. Tackled, bubbled, podded. 0810 - Syndosis logs in a c3 site Tengu. Tackled, bubbled, podded. 0830 - Fireflyer logs in a Revelation. Tackled, bubbled, podded. Didn't even siege. 0940 - First tower explodes, leaving just anchored defences that never fired. 1110 - Tegan logs in in a c3 site Legion, tackled, bubbled podded and killed. Good active tank on that Legion, needed ~3 ships to break it. 1200 - Second tower explodes. Ran out of ammo for Phoenix. Sad Times. 1215 - Joss logs in in a c3 site Legion, tackled killed, pod got out. We chase his pod around for 20 minutes before we finally pop him with an insta-Naga on our second try. 1225 - Third tower explodes. 1325 - Fourth tower explodes. 1345 - Kel logs in in a Thanatos. Tackled with Proteus and Loki, launches Ogre Is, then Hammerhead Is, then EC-600s. Drones killed almost instantly, completely ineffective. 3 Dreadnaughts quickly destroy. Cheetah launched just before Thanatos death. Targetted to prevent boarding, destroyed. H/Dictor pilots were in Dreadnaughts, pod got out. Capsule self destructed. 1415 - Fifth and final tower explodes. 1645 - Probes on scan. New sig. It's a wormhole, AHARM (NOHO) rolled into us. We try crashing it. 2 orcas and an empty Archon hull warp to the hole. As Archon enters warp, scout reports AHARM fleet landing on other side. First orca jumps through, jumps back and warps back to POS. Second Orca jumps through, jumps back and has power failure at house. Archon simply turns around and warps back to POS. Disconnected Orca dies, pod e-warps away. NOHO rolls the hole. We go back to hauling. 1715 - Probes on scan. Put a sabre and T3s on the static and waited. Flycatcher shows up, jumps. Bubbled, forced back through. Followed, bubbled, killed, podded. 1945 - The only SYJ inflicted loss of the entire OP. Noticed a Loki logging in on D-scan. Warped sabre to member's POS. On landing, decloaked a Proteus. Sabre killed. I launched a bubble before death in the attempt to keep the proteus there until help arrived. Help arrived as pod exploded, Proteus cloaked, we couldn't decloak him. Gamble lost, died in my own bubble. 2100 - Downtime. We go to bed, log on 9 hours later.
0600 - Log on. Notice new tower on d-scan. Setup is large Amarr, 6 shield hardeners, one neut battery. 0820 - Self destruct Phoenix to free up pilot to haul. If pilot was podded, Phoenix could not be destroyed. Risk of falling into SYJ hands.
UNKN - SYJ relief fleet botches killing anything then logs off and isn't seen again. Short Teamspeak discussion with Pell Helix and relief fleet commander.
1040 - Self destruct all remaining capitals and all smaller ships (T1/2 frigates, T1 cruisers, T1 BCs, shuttles, ventures) that we don't plan on hauling. SYJ euro fleet went to bed, something about 3am and a bag of dicks. We get hole control given back to us. We haul all remaining ships, hangar items, fuel, POS modules out to Low Sec under the watchful eyes of at least 3 Lycosa scouts that didn't even try to shoot pods that we were squad warping in groups of up to 6 at a time to unscouted holes. 1700 - Op finished. All stolen assets removed from hole. |

Loot pictures.
Also (not shown above) there was 39,330,937,221.41 ISK in our corp wallet at the end. This includes stolen site loot, stolen corp wallet and self-destruction ISK from the capitals. This number should have been MUCH larger, but farming corp is bad at farming.
Hope you enjoyed the read (or died from the damage inflicted by my wall of text) and I have to ask if anyone is recruiting known Awoxers and corp thieves?
Cheers,

So yeah, this was a hell of a lot of fun. Minus the 40b in cash we were going to get no matter what for being faggots, it was quite impressive to see a 60 man corp sit cloaked while watching 53b in assets get hauled out the front door. They may as well have just helped us haul it. |

It's not as funny when it happens to you. (Still funny though)
All ships hauled out, including personal went into corp hangars to be shipped/sold/split/organized later. I actually log myself on after home from work to find all roles stripped on my toons. Paikis stole all the cash and ships leaving me, like the rest of Lycosa, with only the initial money in my wallet.

Isk comes and goes, good friends that you can depend on are much rarer as shown.
The bit that makes me sad is that you were given the chance to join us and have a good time. In your own words you were given the chance to lead and build the corp up and at the point where the going got even a bit tough you decided to quit. Instead of taking your stuff and leaving like a half decent/mature person you decided to throw a crybaby tantrum, throw your toys around and **** everyone else. You accuse others of their imperfect leadership and yet there you are with your proven track record behind you.
You wanted more isk for sites you organised and for putting a fleet together and you got it. Of course this would ruffle some feathers and yet you didn't know how to smooth them out. You ended up runnign around with Interconnector in and out and wonder why people started disliking you.
Ah well we really shouldn't have given you corp roles but hindsight is 20/20. Too bad you looked like someone dependable at some stage there.
And now it looks you decided to double cross Interconnector too. Guess the old saying about honour amongst thieves is true.
All the best mate. You'll need it.
As a commentary on the larger picture: oh well this is eve and this is why we all play this game.
On the issue of corp roles I still continue to believe that they are utterly broken. There is virtually no balance and checks system built into the roles to allow scrutiny and oversight in a timely matter. It doesn't who it is or who you give it to, it still leaves you vulnerable. Thanks CCP! |

Halfway through I thought you were describing Ragnarok.. Nice read, and tbh, farming corp is farming.
As for 'quitting when you were dependable' and ****, people who don't log on for pew and aren't ready within 2 mins are not worth the hassle. Being the only guy who organizes and does **** takes its toll, and if you're met with indifference on the other side, the other side deserves what they get. At least this time you got paid for your work :P
As for honor amongst thieves... really? Why'd you keep it in the corp hangar, jeez. |

Let me take the blame for being the idiot who gave him the ability to do this.
And here are some simple statements, not 4 pages of them.
I gave him the role that enabled him to do it. Effectively I am CEO without title. As he mentioned long story - who cares.
We all lost billions.
We were stupid to trust someone to that degree, it wont happen again.
Poor leadership leads to frustration and in the end crappy results.
Leadng those that dont want to help corp is pushing a dead horse - it will also not happen again.
PVP is a fact of the game - it has to be learnt or you will get stuffed up more than if you dont learn it.
Its isk and ships, as people with lives it doesnt actually effect us in any significant long lasting way unless we let it.
Pixels come Pixels go - meh we will rebuild, learn from mistakes and have fun doing whatever we choose to do.
Paikis can make any accusation he likes. He whines it was all him, he had to do it all. Interestingly I once did what he is doing. Being the go to guy in corp that everyone turns to while no one else helps with organising opps etc is not fun and just makes a game a job. Nox also was in that spot and predictably no one helped, and he got to same point as I did.
Yes Paikis its a hard cruel life to be taken for granted. You poor little boy. Get over it. We have.
Yes we are poorer but happily this has sparked more co-operation beween members with a better flow of ideas on how to run the corp which has been desired for ages now but attempts were not successful.
Should I thank you Paikis, almost but not quite. you were in a position myself and others have been in within corps and instead of stealing all the crap, we chose to work out solutions.

Should I thank you Paikis, almost but not quite. You probably should thank me. Interconnector too. The only reason you're still a part of Lycosa is my fleets. I seem to recall you talking to Rolled Out about joining them. I also remember you saying several times that you were leaving. If not for me, you'd be long gone and Lycosa would be dead.
Instead you have new life in your corp. People are making suggestions and everything. I hope you can rebuild, as I said, no ill will against anyone. But don't forget, you ahve all this new participation because I gave you all someone to unite against.
Thank me? Yes, you should. |

I enjoyed my time in Lycosa. With the exception of the people that only logged in for sites I had a good time. This was more of a "Can we do it? Let's find out!" from my perspective. You think if Paikis and I were in that corp and someone pulled this **** on us we would have just let them haul everything out? If him and I were the victims in this situation, that POS would be reinforced so fast and the only assets getting out would have been when we weren't logged in. You had three dreads and a carrier that we know of to play with and have yet to touch a single POS mod.
That being said, I hope you (or better yet, someone else) takes the reigns and uses this as a fresh slate to turn Lycosa into something more then a c6 farming corp disguised as an SYJ member. At least do it for the new guys. Better yet, some fresh blood in leadership positions. (maybe not roles )

Meh, truthfully the only part that hurts is the betrayal of trust. And my phobos. Had that phobos for years, always knew I'd lose it, never thought it'd be lost to an awox though. Lesson learned I suppose.
I'll just leave this here, to complete the story.
Quote:The day Paikis stopped being a space communist. From: Paikis Sent: 2014.06.28 16:41 To: Lycosa Syndicate,
This is a bit of a rant. Deal with it.
I've been somewhat absent the last week due to RL commitments (i.e exams). During this time, I have noticed something that disturbs me greatly. In the 7 days since i last organised a site fleet, there has been 2 nights where any sites at all were ran, for a grand total of only 5 sites total. I haven't been completely absent, and I have noticed that on every night during this week there has been more than 10 sites available. 5 sites out of more than 70 that could have been done.
This means we have left more than 45 Billion ISK just sitting in those sites. That's enough ISK to plex every account in the corp. It appears you people couldn't organise a shag in a brothel.
Syndo and Nox are burned out, Nuvia tried to organise things and was met with apathy and no one else appears to want to do it. Unless I organise sites, they don't happen. With that said, I want to share something Syndo said to me before he recruited me back in August 2012.
"I am not here to create content for you. You will have to be proactive and organise things for yourself to do." - Syndosis, CEO Lycosa Syndicate, 2012
I also am not here to create content for people. This is something I find myself doing a lot though, simply by being online and organising things for me to do. Interconnector has tried to organise fleets, he spent an entire night online, needing nothing but a Loki pilot to web things for him... and nothing happened. No sites were ran, in spite of several people logging on. Nuvia has tried to organise regular fleets, and no one logged on, despite pinging Line.
The ships that I run sites with are worth about 12 billion ISK to replace, and they are all in site. The ships Interconnector uses are worth about the same. Collectively, we put over 24 billion ISK worth of ships into a site. We run 4 accounts each and we usually cover the roles of first carrier, first dread, webs, boosts, tagging, second carrier and have second wave dreads. We're in charge of rolling holes, setting up and running the fleet, salvaging and usually of taking the loot out and selling it, always within 24 hours of the sites being ran.
Organising a site fleet is not difficult, but it does require a fair amount of work. We're tired of doing all the work to organise and run fleets and getting no more than someone who shows up and presses F1. We're tired of running 4 clients each and getting nothing more than a player who semi-AFKs second carrier and nothing else.
Space communism is over. The people who do the work are going to get paid for it.
Effective immediately, the following changes are going to occur in any fleet I am running:
1. Interconnector and I are taking an extra share or 2 shares if we run more than 10 sites. If the fleet runs 8 sites, I'm getting 8+1 shares and if we run 14 sites, I'm getting 14+2. So is Inter. 2. Legions are not welcome in my fleets. Exceptions will be made for players who have been in the corp for less than 1 month and cannot yet fly a Loki. These players will be allowed to join and given half shares. They will also be expected to have a Loki they can fly within 1 month of joining. 3. ECM ships are not welcome in my fleets. If you aren't in a capital ship or a webbing Loki, you aren't coming into my sites. 4. No more than 2 subcaps. First in, first served. I will sit my Loki pilot if someone else can bring webs. 5. No more than 6 dreadnaughts total. I will sit mine if there are enough people online.
In case anyone thinks I'm being unreasonable or greedy, I will remind you that sites simply don't get ran unless I organise it. The 45 billion ISK we have collectively pissed away in the last week is proof of this. That ISK could be in people's wallets.
To sum up: Inter and I do the work. We have much more ISK on the field at risk. I'm not happy with this. I'm taking a larger share of the cake. If you want to sit at my table, you can have some cake as well, but it will be less than the people who are working to put that cake on the table.
You can see examples of how the loot will be divided in the pay-outs sheet. I have created samples for 8 sites and 12 sites ran. You will see that it isn't an huge difference.

I almost wasnGÇÖt going to post this but then decided to, even if for no other reason than to transcribe- for my own personal future reference- the opinions felt at this moment, should time erode the memory. (I will also attempt to keep this brief)
As a new member to Lycosa (just over 2 weeks) I can say that it has been amazing. From doing C6 to C3 sites, to learning how to hunt, tackle and kill targets in the darkest parts of space- it has been an exhilarating ride to finally discover the GÇÿendgameGÇÖ of Eve online. Wormhole space GÇô this is how the game is meant to be played. The people I have met here will remain allies for as long as I play Eve GÇô with two obvious exceptions (and for the record even post-betrayal it has still taken me this long to come to a firm conclusion of where I stand regarding both of you-like I have always said I feel no anger towards either of you, but rater to seek out and understand the motivations of your actions).
Let me start by saying this: You Paikis (and interconnector) are solely to blame for this theft and destruction. It is you who thought it, planned it, and carried it out. You can say anything you want to try and explain and justify the reasons for your actions- let me tell you this, there are none. Regardless of mistakes were made involving roles and privileges, there is no excuse for the damage you have done. Remember that.
Yes there were problems with the corp, so does every corp. The universe is filled with problems (apparently including your own personal perspectives of right and wrong) GÇô it is how we deal with them that defines us. You could have left peacefully-or even in anger, you could have brought issues out into the open (one email is not enough and if you think it is you are mistaken). If you had issues then you should have acted maturely and faced them head-on, instead you threw a tantrum - like a baby- and you will be remembered as such.
You say there is no animosity, you say you didnGÇÖt want to kill the new people, and you say you didnGÇÖt lie to us. Let us be clear- you did lie to us. There is no equivocation regarding this. You pretended to be our friends, and then ripped the spinal cords out the back of our skulls- implants and all. Actions speak louder than words. You were not our friends- you planned our deaths.
People say that Eve is a game, and this is true-however this is a much too simple definition (akin to saying that the Mona Lisa is paint). In truth all of life is a GÇÿgameGÇÖ to varying degrees. Your actions here speak volumes for your character. Remember that life- just like Eve- is a long journey. May your other games be more successful than here.
You might try to counteract what I have posted here- but you cannot- what is said here is said in truth (regardless of what others reading this may think). I once considered you trusted friends, and had great respect for both of you- that has now been reduced to zero. I would advise that both of you take a long hard internal look at yourselves, your behavior, and your actions and dwell on them for a very, very long time.

Not a bad corp theft/AWOX--decent writeup, though it could use some Return key love.
Ripping off your partner in crime? Mildly poetic but mostly low rent; gotta draw an arbitrary line somewhere. Interestingly, you didn't feel the need to justify that betrayal, but spent like 5 paragraphs justifying the corp theft.

I like this quote.
Big mean bullies **** all over your pancakes and gave you some big problems. Now the question is, how are you going to deal with it? You're still a budding young pilot, there is potential there and I always enjoyed your enthusiasm for the game. It reminds me of back when I was new. The young ones are always so cute.
To better understand this, let's work through it.
Does:
Not liking certain members = Awox steal all ****?
No.
Being the isk faucet for a bunch of "farmers" to sponge off of = Awox steal all ****?
No.
Would be fun to make people cry and steal all their stuff?
No.
Like we've said before and apparently needs to be repeated to you. It was a combination of all those things, but far far far the most decisive one was, "IT WOULD BE FUN TO SEE IF WE CAN, LET'S TRY!". I think really even talking about anything outside of that is being dishonest. At least for me.
I know a lot of us put probably too much time and effort into what we do in Eve, myself included of course. It sucks to have it ripped away by people you trusted. Sorry for that mate. But Eve is what it is. Hate us all you want, we built our sandcastle and just happened to have to kick yours over in the process. Nothing personal.
Life experience as with skill points just come over time. You'll be over this soon enough and back on doing your thing. Only this time you'll be a little wiser, and the corp you're in will most likely be stronger then before we left. (Hopefully)
I wish you the best of luck out there sir. |

Oh, I wasn't going to link corp mails. I didn't know you wanted the whole story out there. Well, since you asked for it, here we gooooooooo!
Let's get started with your glorious leader's response to that mail you linked.
Then we'll get into the mails after we stole everything.
Quote: Selling capitals in J103400 From: Paikis Sent: 2014.07.15 09:42 To: [redacted]
Hi folks,
As discussed with Nuvia on comms, we've got a pile of capital hulls that we don't really want and we can't easily get to market. As such we are prepared to offer them back to you for 75% of the hull cost (rigs included for free). This means the following hulls are for sale for the following amounts:
Moros: 1.6 billion Naglfar: 1.6 billion Revelation: 1.6 billion Phoenix: 1.4 billion
Archon: 900 million Thanatos: 900 million
If we receive no response by downtime on tuesday 22/07 (Sydney local) then we self destruct and move out. If our tower is reinforced, we self destruct and move out. If we see SYJ, we self destruct and move out. We decided everything in that hole was dead before we took the first ship. It makes no difference to us.
We realise that you have no reason to trust us, but this offer is genuine.
Reply by EVE mail to Paikis and/or Interconnector please.
The ball is in your court.
And the response to that e-mail.
Quote: One last appeal From: Nuvia Sent: 2014.07.15 21:47 To: [redacted]
Hey Paikis and Interconnector,
This may be a waste of time but I can but try.
Please return the ships to the Lycosa members.
I understand youGÇÖre not happy - people talked behind your back and that generates a lot of ill feeling
I can only appeal to your better nature as a person that is impacted as a by-product of the situation.
At this stage what is the difference to you both between a screenshot of the captured ships vs. blowing them up?
Please return the ships taken
You still have the ability to show mercy and people will remember that for far longer
Cheers,
Nuvia

Tegan, dude, just stop. I don't know what part you think you played in all this, but you were a bit character at best. Your entire role was to donate a T3 to us and then explode nicely. Your mails begging for ISK were amusing though.
I had such high hopes for you. Right up until I saw your posts on Line, and heard your delicious tears on comms, I had planned to offer to let you join us. You were new to the WH life and kind of bumbling, but the whole cute newbie thing usually plays in your favour. Oh well.
Apollo Eros wrote:Quick question. Being a veteran member of Surely You're Joking didn't you already know that you would not get a fight?
Also the word isk is used far to much.
#beardrama
Lycosa is a farming corp. I mean, we stole or destroyed everything they had in that hole, and they just sat cloaked and watched us do it. So yes, this is beardrama. But its still gold.
We were pretty sure there would be no fight. Lycosa wouldn't fight us and SYJ would bring a blob we couldn't fight. We also did our best to remove their ability to fight. Before anyone logged in, we had taken most of their ships, and we shot the SMAs as they were logging in. They had the ships they logged out in and nothing else for the first day. Most of the people logging in didn't even get to keep those ships.
No excuses for the second day though. They had 9 hours to get ships in while we slept.
Sitting cloaked while watching us haul your ships out is pathetic. We were squad warping up to 6 ships at a time to unscouted holes, then squad warping pods back, again with no scouting. We didn't lose anything. THAT is what should burn the most from this whole thing. The shame you should feel for not killing those pods. Especially since at least 3 of them had full slave sets in them.
One dictor, and you would have stopped us dead. |

having been on the receiving end of this kind of action, I will say that the responsibility lies entirely with the CEO. It's the CEO's job to manage his corp members and their expectations and frictions. Its the CEo's job to remove Director roles from people who are not getting along with the other members/Directors or who don't fit in. I screwed up with BUGRY a few years back, we got fleeced 11B or so, and i personally made it up to the members out of my own wallet, because the responsibility ultimately fell on my deranged, mercurial shoulders.
That said, the other thing to point out here is that the game is set up this way. This is all a valid play style. You may feel betrayed by their actions, and you were, and you're free to express that emotion in tear-filled hatemails and forum whining. But you should also say "good game" and move on. 93 billion is a lot of money, but apparently Paikis can spend money quite swiftly by his own account, so it's not really like he's going to retire on his ill-gotten gains. The way I'd look at it is, he was just reclaiming the effort he put in to dragging the typical C5-C6 bear corp around by their noses making everyone else metric boatloads of ISK and getting less than his fair share of the loot split. If that annoys people in lycosa, you were getting overpaid for being lazy risk-averse scrooges who weren't willing to devote the 4-6 months training into flying a cap appropriately and earning your pay.
This also reminds me of last night's recruitment I attempted. Some scrublord from CO2 asks if BUGRY is going to ever move into C5-C6 space, and I reply no. This sorts out the bears from the PVPers; the PVPers are happy to sort their ISK supply out themselves and live wherever. The bears and lazy follower type scrubs want someone else to lead them to the land of milk and Escalations and find them glory like in that video that Hard Knocks / RnK / whoever poasted, that one month, and boy do they want to be part of that. just not yet, and can I please get enough ISk to pay for my PLEX and X-type hardened Tengus please?
Seriously, this reads like a manual for why C5-6 space is boring. J's before K's. Sudden Buggery is recruiting w-nerds and w-noobs. Mail your resume in today! http://www.localectomy.blogspot.com.au

Not saying they were right for AWOXing. But complaining about someone doing twice the work and getting what an extra 10% or so is pathetic. |

I enjoy the banter, the different opinions and varied views of responsibility
It is as one post mention the way the game is built. Also as a post put it, It is CEO's responsibility.
Interestingly with the mail Kel quotes from, Paikis was in agreement to my frustration as pseudo CEO in that if a person, myself, Nox, Paikis or Inter did not get the sites going - they didnt get done.
The area I disagree with a few is that CEO is not responsible for providing content for his members or you as mentioned end up getting those that follow you from one isk feeding to another and do nothing for themselves.
Yes farming is boring and seen by many as childs play as far as a members progress in this game goes. However again, as AWOXing is a gaming style or route to take, so is farming. After having billions in your wallet, however most members will probably ask themselves - What am I farming isk for? Where will it go? Do I simply want to amass wealth for that sole purpose or pleasure?
I believe that a WH corp should really progress to become adequately skilled at PVP or at least willing to give it a go to hold any true cred or respect with other WH corps and perhaps most of EVE.
However to have 3-5 caps in a WH while you see a coordinated effort of 2 players and their 6 or so alts tearing your POS's apart, hardly makes you want o go yeah lets try beat them. Especially when you have no understanding of how to make a fight go your way as much as possible.
I have seen stupid gung-ho efforts in PVP in WH space before and all that results is yet another massive isk donation to BOB. This time a player actually got all the isk. - So be it.
We will endeavor to grow again, recruit members with the desired attitudes and keep trying to learn to PVP more effectively.
SO - Anyone looking for a PVP training role on a very small WH corp in the AU TZ? I cant promise you really good roles or awoxing chances but would LOVE to hear from anyone in our TZ who is happy to work with a bunch of Aussies and train us more. We will only be recruiting willing PVP'rs from now on so you wont have too many carebears to worry about.
Am I a carebear - YES. Do I want to stay a carebear? NO. Happy to chat to like minded Aussies

I did not follow thread so much, other than to glance in when I see such name as yours', Mr Thorp and Mr Bert.
So sadly I'm not very 'up' with what is happen, or source of sore rectal areas. Can someone give me the TL:DR?
My bottom? Well as you know I am very modest capsuleer and do not like spotlight or attention, but I will speak about my butt in the name of State-promotion, of course and because is you who ask me Mr Thorp. Many describe as my finest feature.
Is hard to appreciate with mere words, being unable to show you in person or even on holo-comms, but I take self-shot of bum in private dressing room for you. Cannot tell with pants on, but is a small barcode and State branding above right hip that is very hard to see. You know what it means? Well, you see I was born with genetic defect, it give me legs that are too long in proportion to rest of me. It make me look a little awkward sometimes, because of my small size, but it works to my advantage in holo-films and photos where these proportions hide my true height. Otherwise would be no good for promotional model, Mr Thorp, I am too small, so in a way this defect is blessing as it make me appear like taller person in film.
This naturally long legs help to ensure they are slender and toned too, and these traits also apply to my buttocks which are attached to the legs. I was told by State Protectorate medical technician that my legs and buttocks have an almost impossibly perfect geometric arrangement which makes them quite unique among capsuleers and baseliners alike. As such State Military take out patent code rights to genetic profile of my legs and backside, along with comprehensive insurance policy.
I have very high metabolism and very rigorous exercise regime, Mr Thorp, sir. This also help to ensure my buttocks are kept in very fine form - symmetrical, firm and gently curved to compliment the lumbar of my lower back. I do much cardio to ensure I burn away all body fat, but I try to avoid weights because I do not wish to gain mass. Other than jogging I do occasional squats and pelvic floor exercises to ensure all muscles in my lower region are taut, toned, firm and responsive on command.
Skin care is simple. Achuran skin is often sensitive and the silky smooth olive surface of my backside is no exception. This olive complexion mean I rarely need to tan (I would burn easy anyway) and a simple massage from my assistant every now and then, perhaps with some native oils, is all that is required to keep my bottom feeling as smooth as your charms, sir.

Edit because seems cool: Flamethrower in the left hand and lawnmower in the right with Tanktop (Thanks Borsek) My sisters and I we follow your teachings for some time, Professor Bert, and is an honor and pleasure to receive anything from you sir, even a podding. So to receive your humble question has make my day. I am unsure if my response will be to the high standard you deserve though, sir.
I am not familiar with this "photoshop" you refer too. The necom in my quarters is limited to some Matari program called "Gimp". At first I thought was joke, I hear of some Gallente men, or people like Andrew Jester, who enjoy to dress in suit called "Gimp" and I never figure it to also be name of some software. But you learn something new each day. For instance today I learn about a "LAGL", is very fascinate.
I'm afraid if I attempted to create such unusual vessel that have pajama yogo pants thing, heels and hands of a lawnmower that spew flame I would only do such beautiful concept injustice. Mine is a specialty in front of the camera, sir, not behind it. And my attempts to making such things could only be described as quite amateur yet very time consuming, ah.
And you, Mr Herrbert sir, deserve so much more than this little Achuran could ever offer in way of beautiful, mutant Proteruss.

And you'll be glad to know her colour is merely dye.
But is important to remember she is not yet of age and her body still develop. Takes many update to her clone stock and is very expensive. I dunno why our mother keep insist to send child-capsuleer to Anoikis.
In anycase, Shelby will be of age in November, and so from then she can make many decision of her own. I do believe that Mr Diadochu has eye for her also though. Perhaps when time comes I offer her hand in auction for highest bidder.

I was sad to not meet you also. I can easy wash dye out if you like my natural colour, but it's like ... black .. and that is just like reeeeally boring! And woah - that sounds like so much fun to fly with you, I might need to bring my catheter thing!! OMG. I really don't want to make mess in your nice ship, but sometimes I just let go when I get like soooooooooo excited. I can't help it, is so embarrass.
And yeah, totally yeah, I love my Stratios. Erica wants me to train into a Legion!! Imagine that!! Wow, but I like Proteus ship too, and when she wasn't looking I trained up hybrid weapons, hahaha!! Is so funny.

Ripping off your partner in crime? Mildly poetic but mostly low rent; gotta draw an arbitrary line somewhere. Interestingly, you didn't feel the need to justify that betrayal, but spent like 5 paragraphs justifying the corp theft.
Cheers to interconnector for not being all butthurt about it (or keeping it to himself at least).

The fact that he also stole from his confederate is really the best part of this whole thing.
Interconnector learned the hardest lesson of all, i think.

Thanks. If I ever find myself alone, I'll remember this. You'd be surprised (I was) how many people don't care about this little theft and (less surprising) are more interested in having dudes around who actually do things instead of sitting in station complaining that there's nothing to do.
If it makes you feel better though, I did get kicked from F-CON. Kind of ironic really, Goons kicking someone for being dishonest. It's almost like they have aspirations or something. |

It's kind of like "I am Legend" where all the irrelevant huddle together in the darkness, comforting themselves. It's pretty bad to be rejected by rejects, so I'm not so sure I'd take it as a compliment. Your I am Legend comment seems to be fitting, because it doesn't appear to be relevant to anything. Your comment about F1 monkeys is way off base as well. I don't dislike F1 monkeys, they're just playing the game. I dislike useless sponges, who want to eat cake, but want no part of the work required to bake said cake. If you want a share of my cake, you can have it, but you're going to help with baking it, or you're going to get a much smaller share.
Use of the word "hate" is over the top also. I don't hate anyone. No one is worth the energy required. I just prefer to avoid certain types of people.

The security wasn't complete pants. If I hadn't been given roles that essentially made me a director (sans ability to grant) I would only have been able to empty the member's tower and the one I was living in. The majority of the stolen ships came from POSes that I would not have been able to get into. Probably without the roles we'd have stolen about 20-30% of what we ended up getting.
Security could use some tightening, but it was the roles that really did it. |

The Character of anyone is best measured when they think no one is looking and/or when they believe they are anonymous.
The rules of this game promote this type thing, and I learned that early on. It is something made expressly clear. Respectfully, I disagree with it.
But for now this game is better for me than the alternatives, and I adapted to the game, because its CCP's game, that is what they want, and I have stayed.
Its a game that puts new players at a disadvantage, that promotes lying, cheating, etc., and the only mystery is how CCP professes not to fully understand how this is, has been and always will be a niche game in that playing environment.
But that said, all those things are expressly, repeatedly and plainly made crystal clear. If you choose to stay and play and fall victim, and you have been here past the initial 30 days, do not blame anyone other than yourself.
