Can we either :-
a) Get medium and large tractors on the market or
b) Get a skill to increase tractor range
It's great shooting things 100km away, but a total pain in the hoop collecting the cans with a 20km tractor. I sometimes takes twice as long to collect the loot as it does to create it!

Use to have to fly to each can....... I think 10k is fine........ .

BM the most central can - Take your 15km warpin-distance and direction into account. Warp out. Warp to the BM at 15km. Let the traktor beam dance. --*=*=*--

I agreed on a), it's about time for the M and L tractors to be released. A new skill would be nice for tractoring but if M and L versions come out, that would mostly negate the need.
And to play the devil's advocate, 20k range is a heck of a lot better than 1.5k

That's fine for one can, or a few grouped cans, but if you've got 40-50 scattered over a 150km spread then it's still gonna take alot of warping.

And before tractor beams we had to go to everyone individually. Still would be nice to have the bigger ones but even 20k is a blessing

That's what I was gonna say pretty much. You could also swap ships and get in an interceptor or a frig with a mwd. ------------------------ The Almighty says this must be a fashionable fight. It's drawn the finest people. - an Amarr Mercenary |

i have a trasher that i use for looting
fit it with 6 tractors a ab and a mwd it makes looting very easy
just remembr though you may need a cruiser/bc for med and a bs for large so it may have a trade off if large has only 40k range and tractors slower ----------------------------------------------- I lost 5 sp of skill trainning time during the last patch an i demand that ccp refund it to me |

how are you gonna complain about the distance.. you could be doin it the old fashion way .. with out one and goin around to each can... maybe they should nerf them and only have a range of like 5 K.. that be nice.. make you all work again..

I have 2 looting ships: 1x is a fast indy with 1x AB and nanos in lows and 2x tractor beams. Goes 1km/s and good for small piles of cans
The other ship is a BS with 6x tractor beams, 2x sensor boosters, mwd and cargo expanders and nanos in low for bigger piles.
Both do the job very good.

While it would be a work reducer, I am not sure I would like the 100m tractor. Currently, you need to get close to the can, which can be risky.
Mainly I have concerns how this would effect PVP. Now if you snipe or blow some up from a distance you have to fly to the can. This gives time for more to come in and forces the aggressor to relocate. This extra risk is a good thing I believe.

I've got a destroyer with 4 tractors and MWD fitted. Great if I'm in my home system, not much use if I'm 5-6 jumps away.
And to the ones who say "we used to have to approach every can", so did I. I also used to load games from a cassette deck, or type them in myself to play them. Times change, developements make life easier. Evolve, and stop living in the past.

AFAIK they still wouldn't be able to tractor the cans as they belong to the person they killed
you can only tractor cans that belong to you, your gang and i think your corp _______________________________________________

Yea, tractor beams are next to useless when you're in a slow ship killing rats that fight at 40km...

Me votes for 80km range and 2000m/s speed for tractor beams. Currently they are useless in fast ships and annoying in slow ships. |

1) I used to walk uphill both ways in snow, so quit complaining that you walk uphill one way!! Quit asking for a snowplow and salt! How dare you! :) ( Yes, I agree, release bigger TBs).
2) For PVP. a) You can only tractor loot from your gang. I have tried clean up after NPCers from my own alliance, no joy. b) If you have TBs equipped in a PVP fight, your gang has more problems than loot collection:P Join channel: "Eve University" or read here |

yeah, large tractor beam, 100k range, 1km/s, 4000 grid and 150 cpu. all for that.
Or even better, XL tractor beam 18000 grid, 450 cpu, 400m/s, 1000km range

You wanna move moons and planets?
However, I wouldnt mind having a Medium and Large Tractors with little extra range.
Also, with introduction of "Wrekcs" they can make a T1 Ship, like a Tractor barge, maybe it can fit 10 Tractor beams and be capable of pulling wrecks into warp with it, to take it all to POS or something.
We have adapted and have made our own towing barges out of T1 and T2 ships, but it might be a good idea to have a specialised ship, I am sure its not going tot ake too long to train.

Yeh with the new salvaging things coming in, I doubt CCP will be releasing medium and large tractor beams until they decide how best to balance them with salvaging. Would be nice, but I doubt it is plannned for the next few months at least.

Medium tractor beam (30km range) Large tractor beam (50km range)
That would be my chooice, this leaves room for officer and T2 versions.
T2 large 75km Best officer large tractor beam 100km
This would in my opinion solve the whole thing, we should not be looking at a quick fix for lazy pilots (I am one my self mostly leave the cans if they are to far away)

Yeah. It actually takes me longer to pick up all the cans than to kill all the rats, most of the the time. Even with tractor beams. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

No, its cool. With 40, I could fit a med and a large on my mammoth with an AB and no fitting mods

signed for med and large tractors, of course...
however, what IS frustrating is ppl saying:
OMG, boost the tractor, cause i cba to get my meeeelions in loot, as I am a lazy sniper and my BS has no propulsion mods and 3 1600mm plates, omg help i'm poor!
