I have read through it three times now and still can't wrap my noggin around most of what you need to do to play the frik'in card game! This is ten times worse than the old card game Jihad!

I've played Magic the Gathering and Star Trek CCG and even a small stint on the Star Wars CCG and these rules all make sense. Sure some are like "uh... oooh okay" but when you have the cards in hand to play with I don't see any problems with it :)
Oh but thanks for letting me know the rules we're avaible didn't see that yet, thanks was a great read, can't wait for my cards to arrive :)

okay the trick is easy ignore all your cards and be sure you play Oveur+hammer card then the Nerfbat one that's just Instapwn and you can win the match in 3 moves
or just play the *check forums* card followed by hippoking and dark shikari opinion, this makes your opponent lose turns due flame posts.

This works unless your opponent has "Wrangler" in play, in which case Dark Shikari or Hippoking get taken out of play for three turns. If this happens three times, Hippoking/Dark Shikari gets taken out of the game permanently. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Rules seem pretty straight forward, remind me more of l5r than magic, and so far seems to be the seeds of what could be an enjoyable game.
Of course I take umbrage at the Kestrel being 2 attack/2defense and the inquisitor being 3/3.
As to putting money towards it... we'll see, I will have to have a caldari deck as a collector's item even if the game fails miserably.
Prediction, however:
I foresee this as being the most modified CCG ever, with many player made cards being distributed online to be printed out and slipped into sleeves in decks. With the players that frequent these forums anyway. I expect "prominent" community members to make cards held in as much or more prestige than official cards.

Fourm ate my post:
Old time M:TG player, insane # of expansions ftl, rules are wordy to reduce loopholes(single comma, in new vs old rule book converting a card from overpowered to crap example), any specific questions ask away.

Rules from which SFB book? Which of the thousands and thousands of pages?
For all it's complexity and even though it took forever to have an actual fleet battle, SFB was and still is one of my favorite games. SFC was an ok translation, but it still just wasn't quite the same.
So, what will it take to get CCP to let me mount a PPD on my Eveship?

You have to pick up the rules of a CCG slowly, as you play it. If you just try to read the rulebook you'll get overwhelmed. Try sitting down with another player and play a game. Consult the rulebook when something you don't know comes up. After a few games you should be able to do it without the book. _________________________________________________________

Wouldn't be particularly useful in EVE - you only have one shield, and theres no advantage to a mizia attack. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |
