I want to be able to sort my items better in my hanger, is their a way to make tabs, or has anyone came up with a good way to sort things, right now I have a couple seperate bases, and would be nice to have it all in one base.
Thanks Spool

General Freight Containers also work. they have the advantage of no locking/unlocking annoyance, but they're smaller, and more expensive. ________________________________________________

And they do have one other advantage over station containers. If you ever up sticks and move, you can't take station containers with you.

Until ability to browse/search container contents from remote location (see them in assets as subfolders perhaps) is implemented, using them is not so viable option, although I use it myself. If your activities are based around one solarsystem then it won't be a burden.

Since I'm not a freighter pilot, I can't take the GFC's either ________________________________________________

i use station containers but the most annoying thing for me is not being able to repacke items inside them. is it possible to do that on any other type of container?
and also, why the need to repackage items? why couldnt all items be like ammo?

Because of database issues. All unpackaged items have a unique DB entry with their own stats based on (potential) damage taken. Repackaged items are all the same since they can't be damaged, so they take up less DB space.
It's like having one entry, Car (5), versus red 1963 Corvette Stingray with white racing stripe, a ding in the door, 35,000 miles on the odometer, etc.

ok, i understand.
but why it is impossible to repackage items inside containers? is it also a DB issue?

If I remember correctly, you used to be able to, but it was changed, I think in Exodus. So it's probably a resource issue. Maybe it was causing bugs in the DB entries or something.

Could that be solved by making all items just not take damage? Or does damage reduce their effectiveness? If it doesn't what's the point of items being able to take damage?

Can't say anything about mods, but drones cease to function once they hit a certain % structure. You can still pick them up and repair them later, but in the mean time they don't help.

They need to make something like plastic wrap. You can fill it with anything and it just takes the size of its contents and can be put on freighters, this would make sorting mutiple peoples stuff alot easier. Just release the bpo and have the reqs like 200 trit.

I've gotta chime in on the "can't remote search, can't remote browse" issue. I have a huge pile of mods in several different stations. For a while I did the station container thing, and I was pretty pleased by it - despite everything auto-locking when you moved it into the container (this was before the "do not lock" option). The thing that killed it for me, though, is the inability to remotely browse or search the contents of the containers. Now I'm back to just having really, really full hangars that I can search.

I've been thinking of giving up on containers to arrange my hangar too. The lack of searching just makes finding things a major pain in the butt They really should introduce "compartmentalized" player hangars.

yes they do. Just give players the same thing you have for the corp. It'd be so much easier to keep track of. As of now if you have a lot of assets in your hanger it's really gets to be a pain in the butt.
