I cant seem to find where it says how low a persons security status has to be for you to be able to attack them in high security space legally.
I'm guessing that just because they have a reward on their head, doesnt mean you can attempt to claim it without a license or something.
Is a -2.0 enough to engage in a 0.8 or higher?
Can someone help me out here? |

Thanks Jarjar! So unless they are -5.0 then they cant be attacked anywhere without Concord coming in and attacking me , or myself also taking a security loss too right?

-5.0 for everywhere?
I was hoping it might taper off as the security status in the system gets smaller. |

you can attack anyone anywhere that has a -5.0 and less security . you can attack anyone at a range of at least 60 km from sentry guns in systems with 0.4 ans lower security status and anyone anywhere in 0.0

AFAIK, you get a sec hit for podding in any empire system. You're only "safe" in non-empire 0.0 systems. The -5 limit is only for CONCORD intervention. --- Implement forum search already!!! |

This isnt what I expected at all.
Dont you have to kill someone to claim their bounty?
If you kill a bountied person, it lowers YOUR security rating? I thought it would go up instead or at the very least stay the same. Similar to the way your sec status goes up on bountied NPC pirates.
So how do you collect bounties without losing your security status, and as a result end up being a bad guy/girl yourself?
Im hoping for a skill or license or well, anything to legitimize it. I would much rather see players being the pirates/cops then all the NPC types ingame that barely do the trick.

the way CCP explained it, test, is that bounty hunters operate on the edge of the law. concord isn't especially pleased about pilots taking the law into there own hands for profit. so... dont get chased yah. but when other players pay you money to settle their grievances for them... bottom line is you are acting as judge and jury. so yea, u get a sec hit.
