I hate it. These Playerkillers are Gamekillers - at least for me. Done over 300 missions - got 3 implants - got killed - nicely done. Got killed around 4 or 5 times now - my clone costs more than 500k and my maller 6 million+modules+insurance each time. I'll never get a BS. And if I had - I would just be killed again. - There's only strength in numbers - but I'm mostly alone - only small corp. Maybe I give it another try and try to join a Megacorp, but would have been really nice to stay with people I know and trust in mini-corp.
Best is - the PKs get nothing for it except some silly modules. Why not make this game like DAoC so you keep your stuff and maybe get some other reward for PvP (extra skills etc)?
Guess I'm out of here - regret that I made a 6 month payment - will play Horizons when it comes out - no PvP there...
Again - good job player killers - another game ruinied.

If you do not want to loose your stuff stay in secure systems, thats the only way to be safe. If you enter lower security systems you risk getting shot down, sorry but thats part of the game too. -

Losing a ship can be pretty devastating Albert, especially if you're alone in EVE. The same thing happened to me about a month into EVE and I did quit.
If it wasn't for the support I got from the forums and my corp, I would have stayed out. I also find that revenge is a very powerful motivator.
IF you decide to stick it out a little longer, send me an EVEmail or talk to me in-game. I'm always looking for a good player and it might be worth your while... heck you've got the remainder of your 6 months to decide anyway.

oh dear...
Best is - the PKs get nothing for it except some silly modules. Why not make this game like DAoC so you keep your stuff and maybe get some other reward for PvP (extra skills etc)?

Edited by: Easy Target on 30/09/2003 17:54:17 oh oh oh!!! i love these posts!! lemme at em!!!! hehehe okay seriously....
bad on u zinc!!!! i mean... killing an armed player, in 0.0 space!! i mean. where can they go if they cant safely travel through the most dangerous space!!!
**** happens m8!! just pick yourself up and go again...
get an alt... make him/her/it a miner and keep in safe systems... minimum risk... okay profit...
but the point is... u can have one miner and one risk taker.. then if the risk taker gets done over u still have the miner and havent lost your income and will to live...
just trying to help.. i know i will get cut down by some arse but i dont care.. cos it makes sence... u can transfer money accross from one char to the other easily and instantaneously.... u can transfer equip over as well easy enough....
so the moral. dont risk what u cant afford to lose.... i have a thorax that i cant afford to lose... so it NEVER and i mean NEVER goes lower than 0.5..... cos if i lost it i would be at the stage u are at.. and i like EVE. it is good.. yeah u will look at the corp easy is in and think "****er" "tosser" whatever, i dont care...
yeah so maybe i grief... if that makes u feel better then i do... but i dont exploit... i never have done and never will do... if i die i die... i am insured... and as for equip.. i dont risk what i cant afford to lose.... it makes sence.. it makes the game more fun... and u get to have two chars to play with (not in that way)
So dont do it... u know u like it.... **** happens... i know i will get done over time and time again... it is a learning curve. u just hit the ****ty end....
chin up... get out there... and mine your ass off....

Albert, join a half decent corp. There are groups that will give you a crusier just for joining and replace them if you get killed. Working on your own is tough work.

Why doesn't anybody learn?
Avoiding pk'ers is not hard. I spend most of my time in 0.0 space. I move around to areas like Pure Blind, Fade, Great Wildlands, Scalding Pass, ktay7 and jk-fix all the time.
I've only had my ship destroyed by a pk twice. Both times by Moo. Once was back in the day they camped Mara/Passari. I totally asked for this one. We were organizing a group to chase them out. Second time was in Auhenen, or however its spelled. Was doind a courier mission and wasnt paying attention. This was my one and only time my pod was destroyed. I was in a kestrel with standard equipment...no biggie.
BTW, I was in a small corp...now I'm in no corp atm.
Avoiding pk's = Checking the map on your route for ships destroyed and pilots in space.
When flying between two points with stations and one of the systems in between is known to be a favorite amongst pk'ers, fit a mwd or two or bookmark the gates while nobody is around.
Watch local channel! Especially when mining or hunting in 0.0 space. If you're hunting and known pk's or somebody you dont know pops in, warp to a safe place until you determine who they are.

Just get insurance, geek. If you can't afford insurance, you can't afford the ship.
Bought my last BB for 2.5m, spent 1m to insure it for 3.5. So, if I lose it, I lose some modules, big deal.
I've lost three cruisers in the last two weeks. Am I crying? No, I'm giggling 'cause I got 21m in the bank from it. If you lose rare mods, yeah, it sucks, but if you really care that much it's not too hard to keep yourself safe (the map is your friend).
And who cares about ISK if you're not using it to better equip to crush your foes?

You are the Carebears' God. They regularly make a pilgrimage to you in Empire space and worship at your feet, as you make your religious observations by group mining Scordite into unsecure cans.

So nothing's changed since you bought EVE, then, eh?

"PvP is the game - why else does anyone play? to mine?"
Yes, I play to mine, trade, and build ships and equipment, building up a huge pile of ISK, so when I do go out looking to kick some ass, I won't care about losing ships.
Unfortunately all of those features are broken in some way, hence I'm leaving for 3 months, or for good, all depends on CCP...
And as far as board griefing, If players can grief in-game, I guess I should be allowed to bash those same paople here on the forums. Seems quite fair ro me...

Actually, for the first month and a half, I rarely came here. I started coming here when the game suckness started to personally affect me. If CCP would have designed a better game, I prolly would have never had a need to come here.

If I cannot be happy mining away in my secure sectors and greed drives me into the badlands, I EXPECT to get my ass handed to me regularly, and resign to accepting that fact.
Not quit the game because those naughty PKers won't let me have my fair share of big money.
Puh-lease...

"Not quit the game because those naughty PKers won't let me have my fair share of big money"
Again, not the reason I left EVE. I did make sh!t loads of money mining Bis in 0.0 systems.
Those PK'ers and so called "alliances" did not stop me from making money. As I've stated b4, I'm leaving because of repeated failure's by CCP concerning game development and balancing.

EVE has from day one been advertised as a PVP game. You might want to do a little more reading before you put money down on a game that may not turn out to be what you were looking for..
Best of luck in whatever you turn to.. Ive locked this as its become little more than a flamewar..
