Hi all! I have a simple question: if i have for example 1.000.000m3 of raw ore and i need to reduce the volume is better to compress the ore or reprocess the ore into minerals? Thanks! |

Yes, compress the ore. With the changes to ore compression in Crius today, you have a ratio of about 1:20 between compressing and refining, meaning 1m-¦ of compressed ore contains about 20m-¦ of minerals. This ratio applies for every ore you can find, and is slightly better for the 5% resp. 10% ores. |

Also this way you can leave the refining to those who have proper skills, implants and facilities for it.
Also you can almost certainly make more ISK by selling compressed ore than minerals.

To give you an idea, compressing a frieghter load of ore, turns into about 20,000-30,000 m3 of compressed ore. |

Compressed ore takes up far less space than refining the ore into minerals. |

1 compressed veldspar = 0,15 m3 contains 415 units of tritanium = 4,15 m3
so one Anshar (with 3 expanded cargohold II 342,000m3) hauls 2.28m units = 946 millions Tritanium units
that's weird... |

that is the problem I can't solve. Bringing the compressed ore to a minmatar refining station in 0.0 is easy, I can move 6bil of compressed ore in a single JF run. The problem then is bringing the mineral back to hi sec for sale, that would require 20 trips .... ouch!!!!!
I see manufacturing moving to 0.0-

Yeah, you'll be seeing mfg move out to null, for the people who live there ...
Realistically, we'll probably see a glut of ships on the market for a (long) while, as nullsec pulls away from the empire markets; but from what I remember of things -- they're slow moving, so we probably won't even see nullsec entities moving away from Jita as a ship source until fall/winter. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Two ways.
The old way, using a Rorqual.
The new way, using a POS (of any size) and a compression array. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

you find an empty moon close to where you mine you set up a small POS with a compression array you turn it on when you need to compress then off not to waste fuel you cross fingers that nobody wardecs you to kick you out from there

why you don't bring compressed ore directly to high sec? |
