I have a REALLY bad bug with EVE. When i run the client and the login screen comes up the login music is gone and all i hear is static and grinding and squeeking noises (yes i have made sure there are no small animals stuck in my PC case  )
When i log in i can hear the normal game sounds and music but i have to turn the game sound up to hear them properly over the static and the static increases as well.
If i turn the audio off the static continues but the volume of it drops off alot. Still really annoying though, especialy when im on TS.
I thought it was my head-set picking up interferance (its cheap  ) but i have the same prob on my Creative 5.1 speakers as well.
I have SB Audigy 2 ZS
Any thoughts?
I did file a "Question" but CCP said to file a bug report, then the bug reporting stopped working and the "My Questions" stopped working as well so here I am

There are reported problems with certain soundcards, I found this when trying to figure out why my housemates new computer wouldn't behave properly in certain games.
The first recommendation is to make sure you have the most up to date sound card drivers possible. I thought I had and still managed to find a newer set.

I use exact the same card, but never had this problem. I only have problems when running 2 clients with sound enabled. Try to update your driver.

Creative sound drivers suck. Welcome to the club.

i'll try fidling with the eax settings and speaker settings. drives where updated a couple of weeks ago :)

Yea i have a similar problem, like their is a humming moaning scratchy noise in the background. i have an On-board audio device, which is very good, it's on an MSI K7N2 motherboard. When i first loaded Eve-online, it didn't do it, but the morning of 27th, that patch loaded up and now i get that sound, all the other sounds, sound clear, but that background noise won't go away.
i haven't found a solution yet, but i feel your pain. and it's only when i load the game up

yea i have a similar problem, it's like a humming, groaning, scratchy noise in the background. Eveonline sounded great when i played it last night, but this morning i loaded it up, after the patch, i got that sound. i don't know what is causing it, maybe the patch i dont know. But i don't know how to fix it. I've tried updating all my drivers, their was only one or two updated drivers, but that didn't help
I feel your pain. I can still all the game sounds perfectly but that noise is still there.
