Edited by: Osyc on 04/07/2006 18:43:56 Edited by: Osyc on 04/07/2006 18:42:54 Odd problem. In the Overview, the Drones and Gang submenus are scrambled together on one line. I am able to expand the Drones portion, but Gang refuses to expand at all.
All attempts at resizing, moving, draging, etc have failed.
Anyone have this problem? If so, how did you remedy it?
Many thanks in advance.

<edit> When I say 'scrambled', I am referring to the text of the menus. It is as if one menu is on top of another. The Drones menu will expand, but the text of the two remain 'meshed'. The Gang menu will not expand at all.

Appreciate the response.
When you indicate you 'completely cleared' your cache, did this include the removal of the Settings directory and perfs.ini as well?
I inquire, because I have attempted this without removal of the aforementioned files to no avail (and getting the settings back to where I want them would be quite a pain... but doable).

I'm having the same problem. It started when I got in a gang and the two lower menus collided. I could only then see my partner. After that the drone menu has never come back. I've also done everything, emptied my cache, relogged, rebooted, changed ships and have a petition out for 24 hours to no avail. Now the only way I can launch drones is to keep the drone bay menu up all the time from the station, which really covers too much of my screen for missions. So, the cache clearing didn't do me any good.... Any other suggestions?

I am having the problem as well. Additional observations:
If I remember right, it first happened when I was in space, in a gang and double-clicked an empty spot in my overview window a few times (I was tired and mis-clicked).
This only occurs when I undock from a station when I am in a gang, either a leader or a member. If I join or create a gang after undocking, I am fine until the next time I dock.
Since I am frequently in gangs, after I undock I leave my gang and get re-invited and am ok until the next dock. Annoying, but not crippling.
I will give the cache clearing thing a try and reply back.

Clearing your entire cache directory is overkill.
I had this problem and got some crap advise from tech support when I asked about it so did some experimenting on my own and found that after deleting two files from the settings directory, it was fixed.
The two files began "user_", I just nuked the two with filestamps of the current day.
I didn't actually test just deleting one of them, that would probably do it and I suggest you try that first. Make a backup of the settings directory and delete one of the "user_ "user_" files, if that doesn't work then put the file back and delete the other one.

Thank you for you good help with this problem, I had a similar bug where when I opened up my overview itself it would completely mess up and move upwards etc etc so that's fixed it without deleting my 10k BM folders :) ty
