Well we just wtfbbq'd our school network admin. He's adament about how secure the network is, and that no non-allowed connections will be allowed through. So we got 15 of us to put doom on our pendrives, ran it off them (its only 4.5mb  ) and setup a network server. We where happily playing on the school network all through lunch. Then he walked in, saw us, and took away our access. Luckily we know his password and we're just gonna unban ourselfs tmorow

I did that with Quake at college - no CD rom access so we downloaded the shareware version :P

Exactly the same thing happend at my college. But we were playing UT 2004, and ont he projector.....

We wont get kicked out. We've done it plenty of times before and he hasnt noticed. He tells you to go back in a month to get your access back. We never do. He's not asked why.

Hehehe. We had **** on our projector in design. Nothing to do with me though...apart from telling the person how to do it

Heh, I had an interesting incident at school today.
In year 10, being 15year olds with an interest in computers, me and two friends naturally took a look around. Didn't take long to acquire a full list of all the users/passes for every student and member of staff on every domain. We always kept things quiet and covered our tracks. Over the cause of the 2 years up until now, we kept up with the security as it was updated (biggest change was consolidating all the domains into one, and upgrading to a server2003 domain controller, rather than the older NT4 ones). Along the way we picked up a lot of skills which help break these things, and let us bypass the newer security features (worst of which is DEP in XP/server2003. That one took a while). We also found lots of stuff that was good for cheap laughs (like CCTV feeds, and the large folder named "Evidence" in the admins storage. That would be evidence that women have reproductive organs). We mainly did it as a way of keeping score: they never came up with anything we didn't break. The only thing we never compromised was SIMS, on the basis that attempting that would be a breach of other student's privacy, and an abuse of our power.
However, today there was a development. One of my friends was logged on as a domain administrator account in the music department. He was really tired, and so decided to go to one of the practice rooms, where he fell asleep. Needless to say, the computer was discovered, the admins informed, and all the passwords changed. As of yet, nothing has led to us, and we still don't know exactly what they know. We'll see

And, FYI, we've done the thing you mentioned with both half-life and Airfix Dogfighter, except that we distributed them by whacking them in a universal share on the file server.
