I have being toying with the idea of having Universitys or Colleges in EVE.
To elaborate: You want to learn a ship based skill (caldari frigate 5) you would then go to a War school Station pay the tuition fees and according to how much tuition fees you paid get time taken off the skill lets say 2% - 10% (depending on fees of course) of course during this time you may not leave the station (since ur studying hard) and if you do the benifets of the University fall away.
I would apreciate any ideas and or critisisim(spelling) and if you are going to flame dont bother posting since this wasnt meant to provoke anyone

Sitting at a table and listening to lectures about how to do gunnery 5 is totallu useless. Pilot needs practice. This practice can be gained in space, and most NPC, non-pod pilots (those You shoot on missions and ratting) spend dozens of years fighting and become old, hardened veterans before they gain level of competence of average half year "old" (half year after finnishing university) pod pilot. Cheaper and safer way is virtual simulation, and it can be done in station and it is done indeed. You start as a character with 20 to 400k skillpoints because Your character just finnished 5 or 6 years of such studies and now started to learn with ultimate, jovian technology, like all pod pilots.

To the left, hit the button labled 'Backstory'. Read everything there. EVERYTHING. That will answer nearly all of your questions regarding EVE technology.
