botting: usage of totally automated program that removes human presence at computer, allowing resource gathering at faster rates than normal "human" rates per character.
ISBoxer: program that duplicates whatever the human presses at the keyboard/interfaces with the mouse. does not automate anything at all nor gathers resources faster than normal "human" rates per character.
What if you bot but you are at the computer? It is just removing the need for you to push the button to fire mining lasers or warp somewhere or what have you.
ISBoxer DOES THE EXACT SAME GOD DAMN MOTHERCLUCKING THING! IT REMOVES THE NEED FOR YOU TO PUSH THE BUTTON ON YOUR OTHER CLIENTS! SO WHAT IF YOU PUSHED IT ONE TIME, THAT ONE TIME SHOULD ONLY WORK FOR 1 WINDOW. ITS BULLANUSPOOP! |

No, it does not. It retains the one crucial element that keeps it from being botting: you still have to be at the keyboard and push all the buttons, or nothing will happen.
There's a difference between automation and replication: user input. ISBoxer requires constant user input and processing, and therefore fails to qualify for the label of automation.

Doesn't bother me at all and doesn't directly effect my enjoyment of EVE in the slightest.
I only wish I had the time, hardware and money to run a setup as impressive as some of these folks.

Interesting. I had no idea what ISKboxer was until I saw this thread. A couple of YouTube videos later and I see you can have your very own little pirate army. Nothing like authorized cheating, but as long as it sells accounts I guess it's ok. |
