So, recently I've tried to hold some in game events. The first one went great, fun was had by the few people who showed up. The second one ended up being a failure do to real life getting in the way.
All that being said, I recently came into a bunch more isk when I reduced the number of accounts that I have. (Selling toons on the forums). With my birthday coming up soon I've decided to hold another in game events and give away more prizes. The last event I held was a simple scanning event where people scanned down a ton of ships I ejected in a random system. Some ships had faction stuff in them and some were empty. There were roughly a billion isk in prizes given out.
I was wondering what kind of event people would be interested in seeing in game. Obviously, because of the paranoid nature of Eve players, the event would most likely be held in high sec. Though, I could see the fun of holding it in low sec and having people try to avoid the pirates.
Well, give me your ideas! Post here or eve-mail me. If I chose someones idea they will be awarded a shiny new faction / pirate battleship! Maybe I'll bring up the best few and let people vote on what they think is the best and have the top three get a faction bs, cruiser, and frigate. We'll see. I have a month or so to plan, so help me out folks! |

A treasure hunt without pirates is like skipping rope for kids in wheelchairs; pointless https://i.imgur.com/xnZKiON.gif |

High sec events are kind of pointless, if there's no risk there's no sense of achievement. (although you could try an event "afk in a pod on a gate in Hek or Jita for an hour - if you survive you win").
Try a kamikaze race - the prize going to the first person to give you screenshots of their character (with a sentence you give them on the day typed in local chat to avoid cheating) in the furthest north, south, east and west 0.0 systems on the map.....oh and they have to be flying a T1 hauler. |

Yeh then have some people who live 4 jumps out win easily..... |

You make them all start in the same place, have check points or just a screenshot of every system? :P https://i.imgur.com/xnZKiON.gif |

You used to be able to send in a story to be published in the eve-news, I'm not sure if its still possible.
I once ran a can hunt in highsec, dropped a bunch of cans and put drones next to them, you had to scan down the drones in the middle of a mission system and find all the cans, each can was numbered with a bm in it that could be traded in for a prize. gave out 5 bil in junk, plex's and faction ships.
Alot of fun was had by the 70 or so people who showed up. |

Last event I held was published in EveNews. Next one will be as well. They are great for getting that info out to people.

They all start in the same system in high-sec and need to make it to all 4 systems to win - even if you live near one of those points, the other 3 will be a challenge to get to in a hauler that can't fit a cov ops cloak. |

How about a "Down the rabbit hole" event. Jump into a starting wormhole and scan down connecting holes. Give the contestants a starting system and clues along each exit so nobody gets totally lost. Keep running until you reach a dead end? or maybe it connects back to K space and you scan down another hole....
Make it fair in that everyone starts in the same system and has to pickup a location for the first hole.

Whoever kills the most RvB pods wins!
That'd be fun! :D http://residentoutlaw.tumblr.com --áSniping groups of small NPCs and gankers effectively. |
