Sorry about the caps fellas, but after I made one nice,.. intellectual and splendid post that got a record low "views" of 9, and a thread with an all-caps name complaining about something which recieved a superior count of 320 something views... I'll have to go with the caps method.
I was just on the WoW forums read something made by a friend, .. then started reading about all the short comings of WoW and it's PvP battlefields, and this idea hit me like a load of bricks.
Idea: (fyi, this is crazy, and the traffic of ships that would be stampeding towards one of these "stadiums" would probabaly make a mess of current mechanics of the game, but I want to know what ya'll think.
Make a solar system, probabaly 4 or more in fact, where as you enter you are escorted to a station. There, you pick a company to place your tournament entry fee, and for X number of respawns of you ship, the company replaces your ship in your hangar, with standard modules for each type that you lost on the previous ship, and you are free to go outside and fight until you forced back to station again.
The number X would depend on the amount you want to pay. Similar to choosing what class of insurance you want, I could semi-realistically imagine them charging a person twice the insurance price... giving them a profit after they pay for the replacment modules.
Alright, that's it.. ripp it up or cheer for it... your choice

Hahahahah.. it would be wierd... REALLY wierd, but dang it would be fun :p
Honestly though... talk about an alliance goal.
If a group of young industrial powers could get together and basically harness every last bit of ore in empire... you could actually see an alliance form with this "stadium" system in mind I think....
I mean.. this would be like the one alliance in EVE where if someone war dec'd them, every person in the game would come down on their heads.

We already have this. FD-MJL on the test server. As many ships, modules and fights as you want and you get to help test the bugs too.

Yep, 100 isk everywhere, including ammo, which can get pricey, but if you're strapped for cash, just buy a battleship (for 100isk) insure it and self-destruct. It's a cool hundred million right there.
